That's The Kant Do Attitude
"Out of the crooked timber of humanity, no straight thing was ever made" ~ Immanuel Kant
That poem is plastered all over the subways lately. Maybe I'm reading it wrong but it strikes me as a particulary negative thought to start the day.
Everybody tries to act the bigshot quoting German philosophers when the key to a successful and happy life can be found in the wisdom of American film classics like The Karate Kid, Rocky, or Visionquest. In fact if I was President I would install a coast to coast sound system and pipe in the soundtracks from those movies.
America, don't let the libs pooh pooh on you too much because.....
You're the best around, nothings ever gonna bring you down. The best around.

You Want A Medal?
We're celebrating the first 100 days of the Obama administration?
Why?
Aside from injecting itself directly into much of the economy and substituting central planning for market outcomes, the administration has not found any limitation on its ability to spend. The president signed an omnibus spending bill of more than $400 billion to increase the federal deficit for 2009 fiscal year to $1.75 trillion, three times larger than the prior largest deficit. His 2010 budget of $3.552 trillion will have a deficit in excess of $1.25 trillion....

Say It's Osama. What If He Won't Talk?
By Michael Scheuer Sunday, April 26, 2009
In surprisingly good English, the captive quietly answers: 'Yes, all thanks to God, I do know when the mujaheddin will, with God's permission, detonate a nuclear weapon in the United States, and I also know how many and in which cities." Startled, the CIA interrogators quickly demand more detail. Smiling his trademark shy smile, the captive says nothing. Reporting the interrogation's results to the White House, the CIA director can only shrug when the president asks: "What can we do to make Osama bin Laden talk?"
Americans should keep this worst-case scenario in mind as they watch the tragicomic spectacle taking place in the wake of the publication of the Justice Department's interrogation memos. It will help them recognize this episode of political theater as another major step in the bipartisan dismantling of America's defenses based on the requirements of presidential ideology. George W. Bush's democracy-spreading philosophy yielded the invasion of Iraq and set the United States at war with much of the Muslim world. Bush's worldview thereby produced an enemy that quickly outpaced the limited but proven threat-containing capacities of the major U.S. counterterrorism programs -- rendition, interrogation and unmanned aerial vehicle attacks.
Now, in a single week, President Obama has eliminated two-thirds of that successful-but-not-sufficient national defense troika because his personal ideology -- a fair gist of which is "If the world likes us more we are more secure" -- cannot tolerate harsh interrogation techniques, torture or coercive interviews, call them what you will. Surprisingly, Obama now stands alongside Bush as a genuine American Jacobin, both of them seeing the world as they want it to be, not as it is. Whereas Bush saw a world of Muslims yearning to betray their God for Western secularism, Obama gazes upon a globe that he regards as largely carnivore-free and believes that remaining threats can be defused by semantic warfare; just stop saying "War on Terror" and give talks in Turkey and on al-Arabiyah television, for example.
Americans should be clear on what Obama has done. In a breathtaking display of self-righteousness and intellectual arrogance, the president told Americans that his personal beliefs are more important than protecting their country, their homes and their families. The interrogation techniques in question, the president asserted, are a sign that Americans have lost their "moral compass," a compliment similar to Attorney General Eric Holder's identifying them as "moral cowards." Mulling Obama's claim, one can wonder what could be more moral for a president than doing all that is needed to defend America and its citizens? Or, asked another way, is it moral for the president of the United States to abandon intelligence tools that have saved the lives and property of Americans and their allies in favor of his own ideological beliefs?
Before enthroning Obama's personal morality as U.S. defense policy, of course, some dirty work had to be done. Last Sunday, Obama's hit man and White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel led the charge by telling the American people that the interrogation techniques are a major recruiting tool for al-Qaeda and its Islamist partners. Well, no, Mr. Emanuel, that is not at all the case. The techniques surely are not popular with our foes and their supporters -- should that be a concern in any event? -- but they do not even make the Islamists' hit parade of anti-U.S. recruiting tools. That list is headed by Washington's support for Arab tyrannies in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, its presence on the Arabian Peninsula and its unqualified support for Israel. Still, Emanuel's statement surely sounded plausible to Americans who have received no education about our Islamist enemy's true motivation from Obama, George W. Bush, Clinton or George H.W. Bush.
Next, the president used his personal popularity and the stature of his office to implicitly identify as liars those former senior U.S. officials who know -- not "argue" or "contend" or "assert" but know -- that the interrogation techniques have yielded intelligence essential to the nation's defense. The integrity, intellect and reputations of Judge Michael Mukasey, Gen. Michael V. Hayden and others have now been besmirched by Obama because their realistic worldview and firsthand experience do not mesh with the president's desire to install his personal "moral compass" as the core of U.S. foreign and defense policy. And after visiting CIA headquarters last week, the president made it clear that he rejected statements surely made by CIA officers who risked their careers to tell him how many successful covert operations against al-Qaeda have flowed from interrogation information. As with all Jacobins, Obama cannot allow a hard and often brutal reality -- call it an inconvenient truth -- to impinge on his view of how the world should and must be made to work.
And so as the Justice Department memos farce plays out over the coming weeks, Americans can be confident that both parties will play politics to the hilt while letting the nation's safety take the hindmost. Obama and his team will "reluctantly" agree to a congressional investigation of former Bush officials and serving CIA officers, politically targeted indictments from Holder's minions and perhaps even a truth commission to prove that even the United States can aspire to be a half-baked Third World country.
Republicans will welcome the Democrats' actions as a chance to reclaim their mantle as the most reliable protectors of U.S. national security. They will seek to prove that Obama and his party are eager to persecute the men and women who defend America and will denounce Democratic actions as a "witch hunt." Those words were used last week by Sen. John McCain, a man who seems to have forgotten that as a presidential candidate he, more than anyone, persuaded Americans that the interrogation techniques amounted to torture and gloried in calling the CIA and its officers a "rogue institution."
Americans and their country's security will be the losers. The Republicans do not have the votes to stop Obama, and the world will not be safer for America because the president abandons interrogations to please his party's left wing and the European pacifists it so admires. Both are incorrigibly anti-American, oppose the use of force in America's defense and -- like Obama -- naively believe that the West's Islamist foes can be sweet-talked into a future alive with the sound of kumbaya.
So if the above worst-case scenario ever comes to pass, Americans will have at least two things from which to take solace, even after the loss of major cities and tens of thousands of countrymen. First, they will know that their president believes that those losses are a small price to pay for stopping interrogations and making foreign peoples like us more. And second, they will see Osama bin Laden's shy smile turn into a calm and beautiful God-is-Great grin.

When You Smile For The Cameras

The Greatest Scientific Scandal of Our Time
"We thus find ourselves in the situation that the entire theory of man-made global warming—with its repercussions in science, and its important consequences for politics and the global economy—is based on ice core studies that provided a false picture of the atmospheric CO2 levels. Meanwhile, more than 90,000 direct measurements of CO2 in the atmosphere, carried out in America, Asia, and Europe between 1812 and 1961, with excellent chemical methods (accuracy better than 3%), were arbitrarily rejected. These measurements had been published in 175 technical papers. For the past three decades, these well-known direct CO2 measurements, recently compiled and analyzed by Ernst-Georg Beck (Beck 2006a, Beck 2006b, Beck 2007), were completely ignored by climatologists—and not because they were wrong. Indeed, these measurements were made by several Nobel Prize winners, using the techniques that are standard textbook procedures in chemistry, biochemistry, botany, hygiene, medicine, nutrition, and ecology. The only reason for rejection was that these measurements did not fit the hypothesis of anthropogenic climatic warming. I regard this as perhaps the greatest scientific scandal of our time. From among this treasure of excellent data (ranging up to 550 ppmv of measured CO2 levels), the founders of the anthropogenic global warming hypothesis (Callendar 1949, Callendar 1958, and Keeling 1986) selected only a tiny fraction of the data and doctored it, to select out the low concentraions and reject the high values—all in order to set a falsely low pre-industrial average CO2 concentration of 280 ppmv as in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century. This manipulation has been discussed several times since the 1950s (Fonsel et al. 1956, Jaworowski et al. 1992b, and Slocum 1955), and more recently and in-depth by Beck 2007."

The Truth About CO2
"One point apparently causing confusion among our readers is the relative abundance of CO2 in the atmosphere today as compared with Earth's historical levels. Most people seem surprised when we say current levels are relatively low, at least from a long-term perspective - understandable considering the constant media/activist bleat about current levels being allegedly "catastrophically high." Even more express surprise that Earth is currently suffering one of its chilliest episodes in about six hundred million (600,000,000) years.Given that the late Ordovician suffered an ice age (with associated mass extinction) while atmospheric CO2 levels were more than 4,000ppm higher than those of today (yes, that's a full order of magnitude higher), levels at which current 'guesstimations' of climate sensitivity to atmospheric CO2 suggest every last skerrick of ice should have been melted off the planet, we admit significant scepticism over simplistic claims of small increment in atmospheric CO2 equating to toasted planet. Granted, continental configuration now is nothing like it was then, Sol's irradiance differs, as do orbits, obliquity, etc., etc. but there is no obvious correlation between atmospheric CO2 and planetary temperature over the last 600 million years, so why would such relatively tiny amounts suddenly become a critical factor now?" link

Monkey In The Middle OF THE WORST FINANCIAL CRISIS EVERRRR!!!!!!!
I am a selfish philanthropist. I generally only give to those that give back to me. The Doe Fund employs recovering addicts to clean midtown Manhattan which adds value to my life. The New York Public Library invites me to parties I never attend. The Bronx Zoo gives me passes to the Congo exhibit and free parking so I act the bigshot with me nephews. But this isn't about me, its about the kids. Like many orgs, the Bronx Zoo is in the midst of a budget crisis and closing down the bat cave among other exhibits. So if you live in the tri-state cut the Zoo a check for the kids. Do it now before Obama cuts the taxable deduction...for the kids.

Only Matter Of Time....
I look at the language of the Fed when they say that theyll decide if its in the public good whether or not to allow banks to payback TARP money and then I look at the hysteria of the left regarding global warming and cant help but think its only a matter of time before Obama goes all Hugo Chavez and nationalizes the oil industry.
The Debate Is Over...
The Global Warming Debate is indeed over.....
'House Democrats don't want Gore humiliated'
Washington, DC --
UK's Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at a high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington. Monckton told Climate Depot that the Democrats rescinded his scheduled joint appearance at the House Energy and Commerce hearing on Friday. Monckton said he was informed that he would not be allowed to testify alongside Gore when his plane landed from England Thursday afternoon.
“The House Democrats don't want Gore humiliated, so they slammed the door of the Capitol in my face,” Monckton told Climate Depot in an exclusive interview. “They are cowards.”
According to Monckton, Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas), Ranking Member on the Energy & Commerce Committee, had invited him to go head to head with Gore and testify at the hearing on Capitol Hill Friday. But Monckton now says that when his airplane from London landed in the U.S. on Thursday, he was informed that the former Vice-President had “chickened out” and there would be no joint appearance. Gore is scheduled to testify on Friday to the Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment's fourth day of hearings on the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. The hearing will be held in 2123 Rayburn House Office Building.

What to Believe?
What should we believe? How do we form our own opinion? On the one side we have our current president who released some redacted memos from the CIA (against the wishes of the intelligence community) which he believes (I guess) show that waterboarding is wrong and doesn't work. On the other side we have the former vice president who says these memos and others show that waterboarding is effective and has saved the country from terrorist attacks.
The CIA says these things work.
Moveon.org says they don't.
Some people believe this is torture and don't support it. (Obama)
Some people believe it's not torture and do support it (The Aurora)
Some people believe it's torture but are ok with torturing people if it's effective (Gary)
I do believe the President of The United States of America has been called out by the former vice president. He came right out and said it. It works, I know it works, I've seen the memos, lets release them. The ball is in Obama's court. Obama's answer is that he's thinking about prosecuting the lawyers who said waterboarding is NOT torture........... WHAT???? No cries from the left of a "chilling effect" by the way.
I'm thinking we should listen to what the "insiders" have to say. (and release the memos)
In the most recent instance, Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair acknowledged in a memo to the intelligence community that Bush-era interrogation practices yielded had "high-value information,” then omitted that admission from a public version of his assessment. That leaves a top Obama administration official appearing to validate claims by former Vice President Dick Cheney that waterboarding and other techniques the White House regards as torture were effective in preventing terrorist attacks. And the press release created the impression the administration was trying to suppress this conclusion.

Adults?
I saw a story the other day about NJ moving to a "graduated license" for teens. Basically if you're under 18 years of age you can't get a full license. There's a limit to how many people you can have in your car, you have to put a sticker on your license plate, I think they said something about a curfew. etc. Basically if you're under 18 you're not mature enough to make the right judgements on how to behave behind the wheel is the message that the state of NJ (and some other states as well) is sending.....OK
If you're under 18 years of age you can't buy adult beverages.
If you're under 18 years of age you can't vote.
Can't buy cigarette's.
Can't buy cold medicine.
Can't get a hunting license or buy a gun.
Why? Well obviously the message is that you're not mature enough to handle these kinds of adult decisions and responsibilities........OK
But you ARE mature enough to make THIS decision for yourself?
So sad.

Just Throwing It Out There
Funny how Joe Biden is widely known to be a long winded gas bag yet he used ashtma to get out of the draft after his college deferrments ran out. I say this not to come down on Biden, because I can't say for certain if I myself wouldn't have been running around Woodstock buck ass nekkid banging hippies and dropping acid but after eight years of hearing my veepee described as draft dodging Vice president... I kind of got used to hearing it and am wondering why they don't say it anymore.
Handshakes and Smiles
I realize that this is my third post on this topic, but i think it's important enough to repeat. If I was a better writer or if i was intelligent i could have articulated my point the first time. Lucky for me i know how to copy and paste.
The picture of the president of the United States smiling broadly as he met President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela startled me. Our president is a nice guy. Chavez is anything but.
The State Department maintains that Chávez has attacked democratic traditions and has put Venezuelan democracy on life support with unchecked concentration of power, political persecution, and intimidation. Foreign Affairs magazine says that Chávez is a power-hungry dictator with autocratic and megalomaniacal tendencies whose authoritarian vision and policies are a serious threat to his people. In testimony before the US Senate, the South American project director for the Center for Strategic International Studies said that Chavez's government engages in "arresting opposition leaders, torturing some members of the opposition (according to human rights organizations) and encouraging, if not directing, its squads of Bolivarian Circles to beat up members of Congress and intimidate voters-all with impunity."

What Too Early To Accept Donations To The Obama Library?
At least Bill Clinton had the decency to be a proper scumbag and sell our military secrets to the Chinese. Obama is just printing them out and putting them on whitehouse.gov for our enemies to copy-n-paste and put in their playbook. Waterboarding worked and now we're the only country in world that isnt going to use it. Not ready to lead is he, his anger toward America betrays him it does. Yeah, thats right... I went there.....I went Yoda, sadly this admin is more like Spaceballs and fucking up at LUDICROUS speed.
What the MSM Isn't Telling You
Our President released some CIA documents recently. They contained some interesting information but I'm not sure the anyone read them. Our President released these documents and then says he won't be continuing the techniques that were used.
Did Obama read the documents? I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he DIDN'T read them. You read that right, I'm saying he DIDN'T read them and I HOPE I'm right.
Why? Because the other alternative is that this president won't stand up to the whack jobs and Soros sycophants(maybe because he is one) even if it means it will SAVE AN AMERICAN CITY!

No Harm in a Handshake
I'm sure the fact that the President of the United States of America shook hands with a despot had nothing to do with the fact that his most prominent political opponent just fled from his country............actually, I'm not so sure of that at all. If the United States isn't going to stand up to him, and in fact will embrace a despot who imprisons his political enemies then what chance does anyone have?

LOS ANGELES—The new made-for-television movie A Just Killing—the inspiring true story of a man who finds his own inner strength by murdering his needy, overbearing wife—premiered on Lifetime for Men this past Saturday, earning the network its highest ever ratings.
The highly anticipated movie event is another boon for the cable channel, which specializes in uplifting programming geared toward 30- to 60-year-old men. The film chronicles the painful ordeal of Gary Mulkeen, a fun-loving mechanic who meets a seemingly perfect woman, but must soon fight for his very life after she reveals herself to be a clingy, manipulative shrew. cont'd

Drudge is linking stories about three shady dems. Sen Feinstein for directing 25 bil to her husbands company. Rep. Harman for lobbying the JD on behalf of AIPAC. Murtha for greasing political donors to the tune of millions and millions in earmarks.
The Aurora predicts only Harman will take a fall. Reason is twofold. One, she was consistently pro-war. Two, dems are anti-Israel.
Bye bye Jane.

Look In The Mirror....
.... and see how you've been taken.
You wont surrender. But now your heart is breakin'. You always wish for money. You always wish for fame. You think you have the answers. Some things ain't ever gonna change (change). It doesn't matter who you are. It's all the same (change).
When Tim McCarver used to call Mets games I would often watch with the sound off. The guy just wouldn't shut the fuck up about the stupidest shit having nothing to do with the game.
I am now asking you to do the same. Turn the volume off, ignore the words of Obama, and look at his actions. They (yeah them) say they are louder than words.
Gitmo STILL open. Postponed withdrawal from Iraq. Escalation of troops in Afghanistan. Drone strikes in Pakistan. Wiretapping efforts ramped up. Political enemies targeted. Cabinet full of lobbyists and tax cheats. More bailouts for political donors. Spending through the roof. Record deficits replaced with world record deficits. Pork even porkier. State secrets defense being invoked weekly by WH. Executive Orders signed behind closed doors. Laws signed without reading them. Continuation of Bush's Faith Based Initiatives. Tax hikes on the poor (cigarettes) and the rich (income). Etcetera etcetera.
Do you have any principles that you believe in or was it all really about being contrarians to Bush? Cuz that doesnt seem to be working out too well for ya. Granted it made me sick pulling the lever for McCain but...
I have to ask. What the fuck did you vote for? Spring Break in Cuba?
I almost (almost) feel bad for Obama supporters to the point that Im speechless. Good thing my man Johnny W. isnt.....

Jake Tapper has his press pass revoked
or
Robert Gibbs (Mrs Jake Tapper) is fired.
I dont know what the hell happened to Gibbs, he used to piss me off during the campaign because he was always so on point and would smoke Nicolle Wallace on the regular. I suppose this is the classic case of the gym class hero becoming a varsity bench warmer. Regardless, its funny as hell.
Ouch! You Know That Hurted
Notice how punch drunk Gibbs gets after the "8 billion is miniscule" uppercut, he just rambles on rolling around the canvas looking for his mouth piece like Mike Tyson when Buster Douglas knocked him the fuck out.

Seriously though, is there anything for which President Obama doesnt blame America? Is there anything that he likes about this country? Is there anything that we've done right?
Anything?
Ever?

Gas Grass or Ass Noone Rides For Free
source uknown
Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing. The fifth would pay $1. The sixth would pay $3. The seventh would pay $7. The eighth would pay $12. The ninth would pay $18. The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement. One day, the owner threw them a curve. Since you are all such good customers, he said, I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. Drinks for the ten now cost just $80. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. What happens to the other six men - the paying customers ? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his fair share?
They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.
And so:
The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings). The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings). The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings). The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings). The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings). The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings). Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.
I only got a dollar out of the $20, declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man, 'but he got $10!'
'Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!'
'That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!'
'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!'
The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.
The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important.
They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!
And that, boys and girls, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.
For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

Obama on Taxes and Traffic: Ever Get the Feeling You've Been Cheated? Or, can we start talking about Obama's vision deficit?

Mega-props to our President Obama for yesterday's speechifying about simplifying and fair-izing the Infernal Revenue Service and all that.
Except for one small nitpicky thing: He's full of shit on this topic. How precisely is he or his Slugger's Row of policy mavens (you know, the idjits who can't even use Turbo Tax) gonna make the income tax more fair? As it stands, the top 1 percent of filers pay 40 percent of all income taxes; the top 5 percent pay 60 percent; and the top 10 percent pay fully 70 percent of all income taxes. The bottom 50 percent (5-0, Dano!) pay a whopping 3 percent of all income tax.
Kind sir, prithee, what the hell are you going to do to remedy this situation? You promise "tax cuts to the Americans who need them." Hey pal, I just shelled out tens of thousands of dollars so Citigroup can keep its fucking name on the 21st century's answer to Shea Stadium. Where in the name of Ray Sadecki and Bob Apodaca is my bailout? cont'd

Equal Blame?
Donkey rightly pointed out in a previous post that it was pretty disgusting that our President went to Mexico and blamed the U.S. citizens for problems with the drugs and murders on the Mexican side of our border. Anita said he wasn't putting all of the blame on the U.S. and said it's not an EITHER / OR situation.
Anita of course is wrong. How do I know?
Well riddle me this Anita.....If we are to blame in any way then why aren't the guns and drugs and murders and other stuff happening on our NORTHER BORDER?
It is Mexico's fault.
It is the fault of the criminals in Mexico who are selling drugs and killing people.
It is the Mexican government who refused to stop the criminals for decades.
It is the Mexican government who has exported it's poor to the U.S. for decades rather than work to improve their lives.
It is the Mexican government who has exported it's criminals to the U.S. for decades rather than deal with them.
We sell guns legally in the U.S. and they are ILLEGALLY exported to Mexico and that's who's fault? These people have MILITARY GRADE weapons. Those are NOT sold legally in gun stores in the U.S. but i'd bet dollars to donuts they're sold by the Mexican army on the side.
Obama is wrong and so is Anita.
Thanks for playing.

I can't honestly tell you the last time I sat on the subway. Between my chivalrous nature of deferring to old ladies and fear of touching anything besides my Metrocard when I'm underground its been years...if ever. Popped a squat today. Not too bad. Felt pretty good actually.

There are many reasons why Fox DOMINATES all the other cable news channels. I've mentioned a few of them before including the FACT that TV and newspapers are OVERWHELMINGLY liberal and therefore you don't need to watch cable to get the extreme left wing view.
There's the FACT that they're the ONLY fair and balanced channel. No other cable channel gives you both sides. The left says they're "right wing" because they actually give equal time to the conservative point of view. Shocking to the people on countdown to no ratings who have NEVER had anyone on their show that disagree's with overbite. FACT (prove me wrong if you can. Yes that's a challenge)
And then there's this situation with the fascist DHS report. How bad is it? Well even the VERY liberal Bennie G Thompson.... Democrat and Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee is disturbed by it.
How did MSNBC handle it? ONE QUESTION
How did CNN handle it? ......I'm pretty sure they just completely agree with it.

Obama wants a high speed rail system? Yeah about that, the slow one aint doin so great under Fed control. And they wanna go faster? That's a recipe for disaster. Just ask Joe Biden, who has been commuting by train ever since he personally drove the last spike (defeating both John Henry and a steam powered hammer to earn the right) connecting Union and Central Pacific Railroads.
If The Donkey Is A Rockin'.....
Was just outside having a morning smoke, and as I am wont to do, was standing just off the curb on the street. An NYPD traffic cop pulled up silent siren flashing and called out over the loud speaker "hey white man, move it along". I flipped him the bird. He rolled down his window and clarified.... "van, move it along white van".
You're Loco Esai Morales
As much as the America haters want to have it both ways..... you can't. Calderone actually blamed America for the violence in Mexico because we supply the guns but in the same sentence blamed America for the drug problem because we smoke the sensimilla. Its either or, or neither... not both. As assinine as that flawed argument is, its also the official position of our Secretary of State.

Is Thomas Sowell regarded as the greatest economist of his time? If he's not it's only because he might be considered a contemporary of Friedman, and because he's actually TOO SMART. He's so smart that he can give a common sense answer to EVERYTHING.
Abraham Lincoln once asked an audience how many legs a dog has if you count the tail as a leg. When they answered "five," Lincoln told them that the answer was four. The fact that you called the tail a leg did not make it a leg.
SUPER GENIUS

True.... True......
Socialists believe in government ownership of the means of production. Fascists believed in government control of privately owned businesses, which is much more the style of this government. That way, politicians can intervene whenever they feel like it and then, when their interventions turn out badly, summon executives from the private sector before Congress and denounce them on nationwide television.

I Will Spell This Out In Crayon
Now that conservatives are no longer in power there seems to be some confusion. Alot of you saids and but when you weres. We never questioned liberals patriotism for disagreeing with us as are we now doing with you. We questioned liberal patriotism for printing on the front page of the New York Times our counter-intelligence strategies. We questioned your patriotism for your Senators that stood up on the floor of The United States Congress and called our troops murderers and rapists. We questioned liberal patriotism for celebrating death counts on the nightly news as if the big numbers were a victory for your cause. Woo fucking hoo 10,000 million dead... we told you so ha ha vote for us. We questioned your patriotism for your lawyers representing terrorists more concerned with the tread count in their sheets than the actions and words and their deeds. We questioned you patriotism because you find fault in our good and all good in our faults. We question your patriotism because if you loved your country so much you wouldnt be trying as hard as you are to change it.
All I Can Say Is Wow
Been reading news off my phone lately so didnt see the BOW. Rhino texted me the WH excuse and thats just plain funny. Even funnier. Watch the Italian (I think) tape and it shows Obama doing a backwards leg lift like a school girl dancing to her first slow song ladies choice catching a make out. Dont read any more, go watch it now.
Its here to save you the google. FF 50 seconds in.

I'll Be Barack
Besides the media bias, the thing that troubles me most about the following story is that it demonstrates a complete lack of any rudimentary knowledge of both World Wars, the last one in particular. This is not some obscure country. This is not a slip or a gaffe, its ambivalence to world history. --Donk.
It's almost too impossible to believe: the greatest President that has ever lived, Barack Obama, actually made a mistake while answering a question. Now, this was not an error in judgment: it was what you'd call a "gaffe." And as you know, a "gaffe" is only worth reporting if it's done by a Republican or an old white guy. Sorry, same thing.
It happened during a news conference in Strasbourg, France , when the Messiah was responding to a reporter from a place called Austria. In his struggle to answer, the One said, "There's a lot of -- I don't know what the term is in Austrian -- wheeling and dealing ..." link

The Donkey Taketh Away The Donkey Giveth
There was a nun in school that I was very close with. The nun thing aside she was a cool chick. Im sure I had impure thoughts about her, but it wasnt like that. We were as close to being friends as a student teacher could be back then. Mind you that this was during a time in my life where I was seriously considering joining the clergy. I would ask her relationship advice, and obviously sex came up alot. For me it was a deal killer.
Long story short, she left the nunnery fell in love and was engaged to be married. Her fiance was killed in a car accident before the wedding. She continued teaching and even moved back into the school rectory for awhile but she was never the same. She was broken. I always felt somehow responsible in some way.
Fast forward to today.
I was on the horn trying to reconnect with some past business contacts and was speaking with a parish that I had done some work for. The priest who was my client was no longer with them, I just assumed it meant he had died. Quite the opposite, he is very much alive. He left the priesthood, got married and has a family. He is also now in the same exact profession that I am. I may even offer him a job. I dont know if its because I did such a bad job for him and the church (I did admittedly do fuck awful) and he figured he could do better or that I motivated him and sparked an interest in my line of work or none of the above. It doesnt matter.
Even though the math doesnt quite add up and the church lost two, in my mind it does. One became sad and one became happy. There is balance in the force.
... and my corner office in hell just got bigger.

My Sentences Run Like An Antelope Out Of Control
Let AIG fail. Let GM fail. Let the starving artists starve. Let the unemployed get jobs. Ive spoke to a few cable companies, and there hasnt been any significant drop in subscriptions. Turn Dancing With The Stars off and type up your resume. Amazon posted record sales in the fourth quarter of '08. This economy aint shit. Boo fucking hoo your 401k is down 40%. Did you diversify your bonds bitches like the Wu-Tang told you? I betcha didnt. People in the depression were willing to work for food. For food. Unemployment is half what it was in the thirties. Things aint good, but they aint that bad.Time to man up America. Time to stop listening to economists. Half of whom will make you suicidal and the other half have you jumping for joy with irrational exuberance, neither of which is healthy.Time to stop listening to politicians that listen to economists.....and time to wake up to the greatest generational theft occurring right under our noses under the guise of charity. We will never get this money back. We will never get back the liberty lost.

Those Were The Days.....
Do you remember the days of Crossfire? No not the days with Carville and Begala. (How do you have a "crossfire" when both guys are on the same side anyway?) I'm talking about the REAL Crossfire. Buchanan or Sununu (sometimes Novak) vs Michael Kinsley.
I remember those days fondly and I know the Donkey does too. It was the best politics show on T.V. bar none. Better than Meet the Depressed, Better than Face the Nation. Why? Because it was the only show that had a left wing nut job who actually made you think to beat his argument. In fact, I think I even agreed with him once......ONCE.......
Well make it twice. Welcome back Mike.

You Gotta Know When To Roll Em And Know When You Win Who Stole Em
Know when to walk away. Know when to run.
I promise not to speak in the third person, but I am going to use my personal life experiences as a metaphor and morality tale of wasteful government spending.
See, I'm what you would call a shooter. I roll bones, its what I do. My alleged stint with the D & D crowd notwithstanding I only shoot dice for money. I'm a numbers guy and I'd hate to waste a string of hits on a game of Monopoly. Back to back yo elevens and all I get is a stinkin' get out of jail free card? No thank you.
...actually let me grab that card just in case.
The reason I bring this up is not to act the big shot like Leroy Brown (fyi: the baddest man in the whole damn town) but to setup the next paragraph.
There's been many times where Ive just been absolutely crushing the craps table. Hell, after a hot roll from the Rhino once, the Ritz in San Juan shut our table down. Pussies.
...or maybe they didn't like Rhino calling the stickmen Papi. Tough to say.
Thing is, when you're winning big, its inevitable that a buddy of yours is probably losing big elsewhere. So, you do the right thing and throw them some chips. Nobody tells you to do it. The pit boss doesnt take your chips and divvy em up. The dealer doesnt give you half your winnings and other half to the loser. You just do it. Its the house's money after all. You don't ask if they're going to cash in and order twin Taiwanese ladyboys from room service or instruct them to stay away from the Pai Gow Poker table with the cooler. You throw them chips and go about your business (as far away from them as possible).
You are never getting that money back. Ever.
...and there will come a time you regret it.
Politicians don't understand this but they should because to them everything is the house's money. They are not earners, they are not producers. They are not the winners.
...but they think and act as if they were.
Fact is, they are the fucking mush. They are the cooler. They don't know how to create wealth, only destroy and tax it. They throw around money like they won it but in reality they are the loser being tossed chips out of pity. Only difference is, the taxpayer doesn't have a choice.
It's not charity, its theft. It's criminal. It's immoral.
It's the platform of the Democrat Party.
It's what's happening right now.

Federal Angry Guy Crisis
Gay marriage destroyed the housing market. link
Ok not really, but how is this guy not called out on his bullshit every single day?
I could almost understand the chivalrous attempt by the media to not pick on a woman but to hold him up as an economic expert as they are doing is just, as Mike Tyson would say, ludicrous.

A Few Thoughts...
I heard Maureen Dowd on Imus in the Morning this week speaking about Obama say "when the europeans think you're too socialist then you know you're in trouble"....interesting.......
"Texas has sent a clear message that evolution should be taught as a scientific theory open to critical scrutiny, not as a sacred dogma that can't be questioned," .............Really? Students can question theories? Ideas? What a cool idea......
Media Matters produces Keith Olbermann's show. Really? Media Matters is George Soros' company. You know George Soros, the guy who got his start on becoming a millionaire by working with the Nazi's...... How many times has Olbermann implied that Bush and his people were like Nazi's? Olbermann is a mouthpiece for an ACTUAL NAZI!!!
I just heard that Rachel Maddow's ratings are tanking. Could it be because she's just a snarky version of Overbite? and she, like her mentor NEVER has anyone on her show that might think about disagreeing with her? I'm sure she's comfortable in her echo chamber, but it's kind of boring to watch. At least Matthews has guests on that try to challenge him. His ratings suck because he doesn't let anyone speak without him screaming at them, but at least they're on the show.
Our president followed up his DVD gift to the Prime Minister of Great Britian with an IPOD for the Queen!!!!!! What the f**k? Really??? Who the hell is running the show? Can Rahm Emanuel please fire somebody or something?
