i put my cat to sleep (i.e., had him euthanized in a humane manner) after he had a stroke and was completely blinded and was almost entirely unable to lift himself up to get himself from one place to another.
Anita you may very well be a scumbag, but not for putting your cat to sleep. That is not our area of contention. Its the huge discrepency between the number killed and the numbers placed in homes. For the year 2008 it was .003 in homes and 99.997 killed. Those numbers don't raise any red flags to you?
i've never been a fan of peta, as their words and actions have on occasion been inconsistent; although this seem to be a 'he said / she said' situation. perhaps the animals euthanized were in fact sick and injured. how are we to know? each party here has an axe to grind.
i donate $$ to the aspca and feel good about that.
The very fact that as an organization that promotes "ethical treatment" of animals and yet doesn't have a proper storage facility to store said animals, procedures to find said animals homes, or funding to conduct either. Two thousand plus animals handled and only seven placed in homes? Is it because they all were sick or that PETA didn't have the wherwithal to properly deal with them?
Maybe they were just busy throwing paint on old ladies.
Either way, the bullshit flag has been thrown on thesw scumbags.
Anita there is no "party" thing here. Besides the lack of facilities etc. the numbers alone tell the story. Could it really be that only 7 of these animals were healthy or whatever?
