NOW
"The Buffalo-Niagara Falls area unemployment rate jumped to 9.6 percent in February, the highest level of joblessness locally since at least 1990. Private-sector jobs fell by 11,800, or 2.6 percent, in the year-over-year period. Workforce losses in the Buffalo area included 2,400 in durable manufacturing (automobile industry), 2,000 in business services, 1,400 in wholesale trade and 1,200 in health care. The labor department reported local government jobs grew by 600 in the past year." link
THEN
"Schumer had some words of encouragement for black men in the area – at least he thought they were words of comfort. He said blacks could expect in the next few years to have their pick of unskilled and semi-skilled jobs that required little education, because baby boomers would soon begin leaving the workforce in big numbers." The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that 75 percent of the new jobs in the next 10 years will not require a college degree," Schumer said. (gov't jobs? - donk) So, there you go all you young black men, Schumer implied. Take heart. There will be plenty of unskilled jobs for you if you wait around for the next few years. Don't bother getting a college education in the meantime, because we know that's not your thing. Have you ever heard such paternalistic, plantation-mentality condescension in your life?" link
Good plan Schmuck!

"And that's why, despite Barack Hussein Obama's ascendancy as a presidential candidate, the real first black occupant of the White House is unlikely to be a Democrat."
Well, he got that wrong.
Oh, and for a more accurate account of what Schumer said see:

"He says it's time to seize upon a new opportunity that is coming because baby boomers are now retiring. Schumer says the retirements means good paying jobs are opening up, many of which do not require college degrees. Schumer wants more investment in proven job training programs to prepare African-Americans to step into these positions, as well as other new anticipated jobs in the service and construction sectors."
Oh those racist Dems. How can you take anything Joseph Farah says seriously?
Great post Donkey.
Gary, because the guy was wrong about who would be president you don't take anything he says seriously?
He's spot on as usual. Think beyond the racism of hate and think about what it says that the dems are always making blacks into a victim group at every turn.
Why? Do you really believe that the average 35 year old black man in America is a victim of slavery?
I see black people as being on the same level as any other people. Not only can they play QB, but they can do anything that anyone else can do if they apply themselves and they don't believe the whole world is against them. In fact i KNOW this to be true.
Anyone who believes in affirmative action is by my definition a racist. Anyone who tells black people that things are looking up because unskilled labor positions are opening up is a racist.
Figure it out. Are you a racist gary?
Why do you hate blacks so much Gary?
I don't believe gary hates black people. I believe he thinks they're inferior and couldn't get ahead without a hand out.
I think it was Juan Williams who called it the "soft racism of lowered expectations" but it could have been someone else. Another good book by the way, even though he's a liberal. Juan Williams "Enough". Check it out.
You know that might have been Larry Elder who said that. All these black people look the same.
