The majority economists seem to agree that a large economic stimulus of government spending is needed. In fact, Paul Krugman, a Nobel-prize winning economist says that the 800 billion is not large enough. I'm sure there are economists on the other side as well.
Funny that if you ask the average American about a controversy in the field of, say, nuclear physics most will say "I don't know" but every cab driver has an opinion on economics.
Well the CBO says not only will it not work but will actually harm the economy.

Most people dont deal with nuclear physics on a daily basis so its not important to them but take a dollar bill and set it on fire in front of 100 people and every single one of them will know that you just destroyed capital, whether they have a Nobel prize or fancy degree in economics.
Multiply that by a trillion and you have the "stimulus" bill.

He had a chance to be great by solving a serious crisis but he opted to exploit it to reward liberal cronies instead.
He couldve came in office and used his popularity to motivate people but he depressed the fuck out of them instead.
He couldve used his mandate to instill investor confidence with cap gains cuts (or at least a freeze) and sent the markets soaring.
He couldve hired someone that knew what the fuck they were doing to fix the bank problem instead he hired a Bush retread and continued failed Bush policies.
He couldve been a man and led but he let Reid and Pelosi call the shots while he played sandbox pissing games with Rush.

That's the craziest part about this. Spending for WWII did HELP end the depression, and even Gary knows this. So gary must also know that FDR was raising taxes on the "rich" and blowing money on what we would today call "pork" for a decade before that.
So KNOWING that, why would you think that doing the same thing again will have a different outcome??? Come on gary, you don't have to have a nobel prize to stop putting your hand on a hot stove! Dude JIMMY CARTER has a nobel prize!!! I mean that's like giving me a Pulitzer for this comment!!!
Which i would gladly accept by the way if the people who give that award out are reading this right now....
