--Asked what contact he'd had with the governor's office about his replacement in the Senate, President-elect Obama today said "I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening."
But on November 23, 2008, his senior adviser David Axelrod appeared on Fox News Chicago and said something quite different.
While insisting that the President-elect had not expressed a favorite to replace him, and his inclination was to avoid being a "kingmaker," Axelrod said, "I know he's talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them." --

Now the Biden pick makes sense, it will shut up the shutting up about any impeachment talk.

it's clear you want another 'whitewater' to distract the nation from solving the dire problems it is facing (many of which, but granted and certainly not all ... at the hand of divisive republicans with agendas that are clearly not in the nation's best interest) ...
but you're not gonna get it this time.
sorry guys.
for now, HOPEFULLY, the larger interests of this nation will prevail and the president-elect and ultimately the new president will continue to do what he was elected to do: lead, manage ... govern.
and HOPEFULLY he'll stand up to the negative, anti-american interests in both the republican AND democratic parties.
that's what i hope. and in addition i hope small-minded people will get out of the way. if there are important differences on big picture issues, hey, pound away, i don't believe in the sacred cow. but you know as well as anybody that local politics are ugly.
let's move on boyz.
So? This doesnt bother you at all?
Not the media trying to sweep this story under the rug?
The media's refusal to refer to Blago (or any shady dem) by party affiliation?
The media's defense of Obama before the facts are even out?
That Jay Leno's time switch got more coverage on NBC and MSNBC when this story was breaking?
Obamas blanket denial right of the bat that we already know to be be untrue?
Rahm Emmanuel?
None of this?
Then you are a lost cause, and even pumping your stomach of the kool-aid can not help you now, its in your bloodstream and quite frankly people like you fucking disgust me. There can be no rational logical or common sensical discussion with you. Its all delusional rhetoric.
This is a big story and this is the biggest problem facing our governement. Corruption. Party has nothing to do with this, which you fail to comprehend. Country does and youd be well served to try and understand that.
You seem to take great interest when there is an R at the end of the name but when its one of yours its the same old "move along" boys bullshit. The Aurora has always called out the shade on both sides of the aisle.
Dennis Miller hit the nail on the head...
"It’s just nice to know that my President-elect went through that entire system – all of these guys – Ayers, Blagojevich, Rezko, the Reverend Wright – and he didn’t notice any of them. At his worst, he is oblivious. At his absolute worst, he is disingenuous. He had to know something about some of these guys. ... We’re told that he’s the smartest guy on the planet on one hand. In the other hand, he never noticed any of this stuff. Come on, get the antenna up there, Barack. You got to wake up."
Also..
For the record this is not some shady land deal or "ugly local politics"
This is the selling of a United States Senate Seat being investigated by Federal Prosecutors. Kind of a big deal.
Whats more alarming is the point that PJB brought up....
Fitz went through the trouble time and money to set up the investigation, who is he protecting by pulling the cheese off the trap right before the rat made a grab for it?? Didnt make sense to arrest Blago before he actually cut the deal unless it would have reflected poorly on someone important (more important that JJ Junior)
Think about that.
