More From the VP Debate

I don't think there is any debate out there that the Middle East is the most dangerous part of the world right now and has been for quite some time.
I also don't think there is any debate out there that Joe Biden was added to the Obama ticket to bring the foriegn policy gravitas that Obama lacks.
So obviously, if Biden was just idiotically wrong on something concerning Middle Eastern Foriegn Policy, the media would be all over it right? I mean that's his wheel house isn't it? Surely if he made any major gaffe's on this one area, the NY Times and all of the major networks that continue even this morning to point out that Palin misspronounced McKiernan would let us know that he was wrong.....right?

No of course not. At least the Wall Street Journal did a little bit of homework though.

Start with Lebanon, where Mr. Biden asserted that "When we kicked -- along with France, we kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon, I said and Barack said, 'Move NATO forces in there. Fill the vacuum, because if you don't know -- if you don't, Hezbollah will control it.' Now what's happened? Hezbollah is a legitimate part of the government in the country immediately to the north of Israel."
The U.S. never kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon, and no one else has either. Perhaps Mr. Biden meant to say Syria, except that the U.S. also didn't do that. The Lebanese ousted Syria's military in 2005. As for NATO, Messrs. Biden and Obama may have proposed sending alliance troops in, but if they did that was also a fantasy. The U.S. has had all it can handle trying to convince NATO countries to deploy to Afghanistan
