For the Good of the Masses

And so it begins.

The populist rhetoric being spewed by President Bush right now is good cover fire. It makes it seem like the government is protecting you and not stealing your financial liberty. He's making it sound like he had to do it or else the little guy would be hurt by the "golden parachutes" of some of these CEO's.
Powell is the big betrayal? No, Powell has decided to judge a man based on the color of his skin rather than the content of his character. Or maybe Powell just doesn't want to have McCain appointing judges like he said. Powell split with Bush on Affirmative action and he's always been pro-choice. Maybe that's it? It doesn't matter.

Bush is making a grab for his legacy. His Presidency is coming to an end and it coincides with a financial debacle that he didn't create but will be and is being blamed for, and what is he doing to try to fix it? Well he just took a huge step towards controlling the entire banking industry in this country and set a dangerous precedent for the future.

I guess he figures hell, FDR did it and look how everyone loves him! Unfortunately for Bush FDR is a liberal icon because of his socialist actions. History glosses over the idiocy of the FDR years. History won't be so kind to Bush.

Barack Obama has not even been officially elected president yet, but socialism American-style is on the march.
