Morning Joe or Mourning Joe?

Donkey and I had a disagreement a few months ago about Joe Scarborough.

My argument was that Joe is a Republican In Name Only (RINO). He gets on my nerves. Donkey disagree's and thinks he's relatively conservative. I think Donkey watches too much MSNBC because of his man-crush Pat Buchanan. Scarborough is more conservative than the other hosts on that channnel, but that's like comparing France to the old USSR. They may not be commies, but they're still socialists.

I think i put this debate to rest once and for all with this Scarborough quote from this morning.

"Our next guest, the man we trust to give it to us straight, we love him, we respect him, one of our favorites, Christopher Dodd!"........... Nuff Said.

So why do I watch the show you ask?

MIKA!

i'm siding with el donkey on this one. i definitely think joe remains true to his conservative roots ...

your quote is irrelevant, because all these senators make it seem like they have their own mancrushes on each other. that's the only place where 'bi-partisan' seems to happen. joe respects dodd because he is a former colleague and because he has power. that's it.

now get to work rhino solving this economic crisis. the economy is 'cratering' you know.

I don't know how to solve the financial crisis that we're in, but i think i know how NOT to solve it. Keep rewarding bad behavior and you will always have it. Why are we bailing everyone out with my money? The world won't come to an end if the nanny state doesn't wipe our nose. I say let the banks fail and watch other banks that are financially solvent come in and take over the deposits. just like what happened with WAMU. I tell you what, the dems claim they're working for the little guy, but they sure do seem to be in a hurry to side with the president that they hate and bail out the fat cats on wall st.

this is all so depressing. i agree completely that we can't bail out the guys who ALREADY have millions if not billions in the bank. those guys and their families (and heirs) are all good to go for the rest of their fucking lives. send them all packing i say.

i'm not an economist, but as someone who runs a small business i do understand the need to provide liquidity to companies who count on credit lines for payroll and purchasing. but of course none of this was caused by people of good faith working on, as they say "Main Street" ... who cares about Main Street, really? Nobody.

other than that, it's all way over my head but bottom line i personally am VERY pissed off.

Of course you're pissed off and you should be.

I heard Erin Burnett on CNBC the other day say

"some people might think, hey my neighbor who has a house he can't afford and cars he shouldn't have bought shouldn't be bailed out, but you can't think like that because if he forcloses then your property value goes down."

I say SO. I didn't buy a house that i couldn't afford. It hurts me short term if i wanted to sell my house or get a home equity loan, but i'm not being evicted. Why should i have to bail out the guy who was irresponsible?

This should be a seperate post really, but suffice it to say, i'm not happy either.

yes, it is a topic for a different post. but i just wanted to say that it's not just the dems who are pushing for the bailout, come on, paulson is a republican!

Yes Paulson, and Bush.

Problem is Bush is pushing this bailout and basically giving dems anything they want so that his legacy doesn't get even more tarnished with a financial crisis.

I hate politicians.

The problem with Joe is that hes a bandwagon Bush basher and a suckup, so considering that the majority of MSNBC guests are libs it seems like he fits right in when in reality his consevative creds are pretty solid.

Even more problematic is that hes just too much of a pussy to flex his conservative muscles and smack these bitches down.

Although that being said he has come a long way since getting beat down on Scarborough Country by a high school band leader.

I should also add that I have it on good authority that Mika digs me.
