when i was in grammar school, girls had to wear dresses and/or skirts and boys had to wear slacks. then they changed the dress code and, well, then everything changed.
so, assuming there is no "dress code" in the school, they kid has the right to wear whatever he wants. so on that point i am with you.
however, do you think, perhaps, people in colorado remain a bit, hmmm, a'frighted (is that a word) by such eerie symbolism (the bloody words) re columbine and can you blame them for perhaps over-reacting? perhaps their intentions were not partison politically but more to protect the children from potentially rampaging youth.
I too wore a uniform for the duration of my scholastic career and it made me a better person/student because of it and more importantly able to tie a double windsor by the time I was 16.
More importantly as my old Lax Coach Webby would would say explaining his strict uniform code of matching socks sneakers bandanas etc...

Regarding Palin, take it easy with the experience thing already. She has significantly more experience than the beloved (and covered for) John Edwards did and as much if not more than the top of your ticket this year. FYI, running a campaign for office is NOT exectutive experience. If that was the case Axelrod should be your nominee.
