Fair and Balanced?

No there's no liberal bias in the media.... except i just heard Johnathan Alter (managing editor of newsweek) refer to the President of the United States as "this blowhard". He said a couple of other choice things in that same line but i don't remember them exactly so i don't want to quote them, but the vitriol in words was obvious. How can anyone say this guy isn't biased? He's just one of many of course.

In the last presidential election, leftist special interest groups and socialist billionaires like George Soros waged war with an unprecedented tsunami of negative TV attacks on the Republican incumbent, suggesting he was a draft dodger that knowingly lied us into war. Adding fuel to the fire, Hollywood uncorked nasty – and equally distorted -- documentaries like “Fahrenheit 911.” The Bush-bashing wave was so big Byron York wrote a whole book about it called “The Vast Left Wing Conspiracy.” This year, our “objective” media turned their eyes on the November race, but they’re seeing only one negative side of the street – a right-wing conspiracy to lie, cheat, and smear their beloved Barack Obama.

Yup yup.

You know Ive recently been trying to distance myself from the political discussion since , well, since it ceased to be a discussion as it became pretty fricking clear to me that the left had lost their motherfucking minds.

This is just another example of the liberal idiocy that had me on the fringe of taking my autographed (yeah thats right) Bernard Gilkey bat down to Union Square and knocking everyone out not in a 3 piece suit.

Alter was on Mornin Joe taday (guest host PJB) and as an "American Jew" he was all up in arms about President Bushs' chutzpah in violating the unwritten rule of not discussing American politics on foreign soil.

WTF????

How in the fucks name do the lib media keep getting away with this mularkey.

They sit back silently for the last eight years while every Tom Dick and Harry in the Democrat party shits on America to our enemies and dont say a peep as they cover all these "peace" rallies calling the President of The United States of America by catchy nicknames like Hitler.

....but when Bush makes a historically accurate and truthful analogy to one of our strongest allies (and whose people were decimated by aforementioned Hitler) about how the policy of appeasement failed dealing with Germany's aggression so to will said failed policy fail again when dealing with Iran's call for the destruction of Israel.

Once again I must stress that the left are out of their fucking gourds but I am sort of impressed that regarding this recent made up drama they havent called Bush a racist.

yet.

Interesting how the common denominator is always the Democrat Party.

rhino ... but he DID knowingly lie us into war.

i'm struggling with this because i'm clearly going against the tide here, but i think hillary would be a far more competent president than obama. however, i just cringe at the thought of giving BILL a third term .. or, alternatively, of having a Bill Clinton with too much time on his hands roaming around the White House !!!

obama's not "beloved" by me. if he's the candidate (which he will be) i'll support him. but my reservations are huge.

what you guys on the right need to understand is that despite his rhetoric, he's quite, quite conservative.

which scares me.

anita said...

clarification: my concern about obama's conservatism has more to do with his social conservativism than anything else. something that he's been pretty good at hiding up til now.

obama has a major machine behind him. take a charismatic guy, a lot of well meaning and overly educated "liberals" and lots of money and a bunch of really smart strategists and you have yourself a winning candidate.

i'm not comfortable with this at all.

one of the reasons why i, once again, deleted my blog.

i consider myself liberal on many issues, conservative on some.

the liberal/progressive blogosphere is as intolerant as the right wing blogosphere.

in the end, they probably cancel each other out. or at least i hope they do.

find me a handsome, rich, well-hung moderate and i'll marry him.

;)

Well, Anita, will you settle for 3 out of 4?

Rhino-itall said...

Anita we'll have to agree to disagree on the lie. I don't want to talk about it anymore because i find it ridiculous.

Obama is conservative? On what issue?

He's for higher taxes, less defense, more abortion, more government control of everything, socialized medicine, environmental extremism, etc. etc. etc.

What is he conservative on?

Donkeyhue said...

Is that the new spin? That Obama is a social conservative? That defies uh um the truth.

Let me guess... because he, like every other liberal politician panders to black liberal churches that overwhelmingly do NOT support gay marriage. Thats just dumb.

Back to the original topic.

Ill give you some homework and some real life examples of the media bias.

Watch and read the news right now as the liberal media tries to brush aside Hillarys recent dominace of Obama in Kentucky and W Virginny. Notice the overuse of such phrases as "populist" "blue collar" and "hard working" to explain her success.

Now fast forward to McCain v Obama as those same results same demographics will undoubtedly be replaced with words such as "racist" "racist" and "racist"

Mark my words.

So whats todays lesson....

Democrats hate black people and gays.

well, what about the fact that obama has let it be known that he would consider chuck hagel as a running mate? what about his "hints" regarding his admiration of ronald reagan? what about the fact that his health care proposal is more private sector oriented than hillary's?

not to mention his cozying up to the anti-gay agenda people.

your guy, mclame, or rather mcsame, has gotten on the global warming bandwagon big time.

gary, not all four are equal in weight ... more detail is required.

Rhino-itall said...

That's it? All you got is Chuck Hagel and a hint about the greatest president of the last 100+ years?

His socialized medicine plan isn't as commie as u would like? That makes him a conservative?

I'm not sure what the anti gay thing is that you're referring to i'll read about it in the NY Slimes....Oh wait, no i won't.

Finally, Mccain isn't my guy. I will vote for him because my other choice is to vote for a complete disaster.

anita said...

who would be your choice then? if you could chose among all the republicans (formerly declared or not declared at all) ... who would you pick as the person who represents you the best?

Rhino-itall said...

Who i would vote for if i could.

1. Rhino_itall

2. Duncan Hunter

3. Rick Santorum

4. Ann Coulter

Donkeyhue said...

Well..... considering that it didnt work out too well for the last handsome pill popping womanizing lapsed catholic Irish American elected President I would have to say that I too would vote for Rhino.

That way I could still call the shots, receive all the perks (private Richard M Nixon Bowling Alley Party anyone?) without the risk of losing chunks of my brain.

speaking of which....

Rhino-itall said...

I would allow you to call the shots as my ambassador to Brazil, but that would be the limit of your power. Oh i would also allow you to be ambassador to Ireland since Brazil is not a serious post.

Anita, Obama's health care plan does not force Americans who cannot afford it to buy it, like Clinton's. His plan requires it for children but most states already have a subsidized plan for children.

I agree with that because number one, kids should not suffer for the failings of adults and two- I am tired of people manipulating the well being of their kids to get them eligible for medicaid.

What Clinton is saying is NOT that people can;t afford insurance but that they are too selfish and we should force them to purchase it whether they like it or not.

Now what happens to somebody in poor health, under mandatory purchasing? You give permission to the providers to charge whatever they want because they are at the mercy of this compulsory plan.

That's not a health care plan, that is punishment- a bit ounitive for somebody who claims to care about the poor!

They are both barking up the worng tree. We need a catastrophic plan to prevent financial devastation for the really fucked up among us and then a plan that is not mandatory but pools costs.

excellent point EB. i can always count on you to set me, and the story, straight.

Rhino-itall said...

Yes, Clinon's plan is bad. Obama's plan is equally bad.

Why do i need the government to tax the hell out of me to provide me with health care that they will decide i need and they will administer?

Under my plan as president Rhino_itall i would deregulate the insurance companies and allow the competition to lower prices across the board. I wouldn't mandate that employers provide health care benefits but would encourage it with corporate tax breaks.

I would also rework the tort laws which would help bring the costs of health care down.

I don't want poor people to be comfortable being poor.

as Milton Freidman once famously said,

"If you pay people to be poor, you will always have poor people"
