edit: After writing this I got into a small argument at my local bodega. Michael Jackson's 'Santa Clause Is Coming To Town' was playing on the background radio and this black fellow pointed out to no one in particular that he was only twelve years old when he recorded that song.
I mentioned that that was about the same age of his preferred slumber party participants. He rebutted me that he was acquited of all charges. True but then I mentioned that he himself admitted that he likes to sleep with little boys. To which he countered that "yeah but he sure could sing"
Well I cant argue that, but then I informed him that I heard that Jeffrey Dahmer was a great cook and John Wayne Gacy could pantomine with the best of them.

The director Elia Kazan "named names" for HUAC and many of his colleagues never forgave him. However, how many of them would deny that he was a great director for such films as 'On The Waterfront' and 'Streetcar Named Desire'?

it was to a great extent a witch hunt. hundreds of people's careers were destroyed over hearsay and gossip. i'm not saying there were not 'communist party' members in hollywood ... but the government was scared by the power of 'the silver screen' and wanted to control or shut it down.
interestingly, the roots of HUAC included the aim of investigating communists AND the KKK. however, members of the committee, as it turned out, were in fact members of the KKK so they decided to fuggedabout that ... hmmm ... how convenient.
Well i'm no expert on HUAC, but i do know that Mccarthy was right and that he is branded by popular lore as a nut job when in fact he is a hero.

The magic word here is not retrograde but rather deflection. As in, I give my opinion that the music of a man who very recently has admitted to sleeping with little boys and who has circumvented the legal system by paying countless millions to his accusers should not be played at a childrens parade.

Read Francis Farmer's bio to get an idea of how crazy these commie actors were. Running back and forth to the Soviet Union to learn "real" acting and what not.
