Well Which Is It?

Were you lying for political reasons when you said this?

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS: “One senator said U.S. troops are routing out al-Qaida in parts of Iraq. Another insisted President Bush’s plan to increase troops has caused tactical momentum. One even went so far on Wednesday as to say the argument could be made that U.S. troops are winning. These Are Not Bush-Backing GOP Die-Hards, But Democratic Sens. Dick Durbin, Bob Casey And Jack Reed. Even Sen. Carl Levin, Chairman Of The Senate Armed Services Committee, Said Progress Was Being Made By Soldiers.” (Kimberly Hefling, “Democrats Praise Military Progress,” The Associated Press, 08/08/07)

SEN. HILLARY CLINTON (D-NY): “We’ve Begun To Change Tactics Iraq, And In Some Areas, Particularly In Al Anbar Province, It’s Working.” (Sen. Hillary Clinton, Remarks At The Veterans Of Foreign Wars Convention, Kansas City, MO, 08/20/07)

SEN. CARL LEVIN (D-MI):“…The Military Aspects Of President Bush’s New Strategy In Iraq, As Articulated By Him On January 10, 2007, Appear To Have Produced Some Credible And Positive Results. (Sen. Levin And Sen. Warner, “Sens. Warner, Levin Issue Statement On Their Trip To Iraq, Jordan,” Press Release, 08/20/07)

Or are you betraying your country and lying for personal political reasons now?

By S.A. Miller - Congressional Democrats are trying to undermine U.S. Army Gen. David H. Petraeus' credibility before he delivers a report on the Iraq war next week, saying the general is a mouthpiece for President Bush and his findings can't be trusted."The Bush report?" Senate Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin said when asked about the upcoming report from Gen. Petraeus, U.S. commander in Iraq."We know what is going to be in it. It's clear. I think the president's trip over to Iraq makes it very obvious," the Illinois Democrat said. "I expect the Bush report to say, 'The surge is working. Let's have more of the same.' " Continued

They do so out of fear, for they are cowards in every facet of the word.

Their past attempts to browbeat Gen. Petraeus have proven futile and knowing full well in advance that said tactic will once again fail when he sits there proudly before their mock kangaroo court and that they are impotent in the battle of wits with this noble and patriotic American hero, they must therefore attempt to besmirch the messenger as they are intellectually incapable of debating the message.

... but what happens if he suggests a scale down, as they have repeatedly called for? Is he still just a mouthpiece? Or will they once again gerrymand their political "convictions" to fit the current anti-bush sentiment of the day?

There is no light at the end of the tunnel. The General will no doubt say that the surge is working well enough to begin drawing down troop levels by April, which we must do anyway as the surge cannot be sustained longer than that.

Well worth reading.

Progress in Anbar is due to the fact that we are arming the Sunni insurgents who were formerly killing our soldiers. Accordingly, they are laying off us, at least for now and going after AQI which constitutes a small force, under 1000 according to the above article. Meanwhile, Iraq is "night of the living dead" as Juan Cole put it recently.

Let us not forget that the purpose of the surge, as advertized initially, was to give Iraq breathing room for political reconciliation and progress. Politically Iraq is falling apart. Marginal improvement in areas with increased troop levels, as expected. Complete disaster otherwise. The surge is not working and why is it that the Iraqi police and military are always an estimated year and a half away from being able to do the job?

Hmmmm.... who to believe???.... lets see, i could listen to gary anonymous who's rooting for his own country to lose a war just because he doesn't like his president, from tinfoilhatsconspiracyblog, who ALWAYS references some anti Bush bullshit blog, Or, i could listen to the commander on the ground in Iraq who has been kicking the shit out of our enemies.....It's a tough call.....

Good ol' Gary. You never disappoint.

I question the integrity of dem fundraising, The Clintons in particular and Im a racist.

I point out how you take glee in pointing out American deaths to score political points and Im a nazi.

I shouldnt be talking about this but I am in talks with Cinemax about hosting my own debate show and I would love to have you as my first guest.

The name of the show you ask?

"I Will Punch You In Your Pussy"

Its going to be a mix of the old school Buchanan Sununu Kinsley Crossfire and Ultimate Fighting whereas if you make a stupid point you get a straight shot to the baby maker.

You missed my point as usual. I was responding to:

"You know what Gary says about 7 dead Americans?

Better than 6"

Now of course I never said that any more than you expressed admiration for Hitler.

Donkeyhue said...

No once again you missed the truth.

Explain to me the point besides taking glee in American deaths with this comment you made...

"Kind of funny a guy calling himself Rhino calls me gary anonymous. My full name is on my blog.

I do not collect a paycheck from the government and do not take orders from George W. Bush.

Seven Americans dead in Iraq on Friday.Four in Anbar."

Kind of out of right field wouldnt you say?

I have never vocalized support of Hitler in any way shape or form despite your baseless accusation of my affiliaton with the Nazi Party, whereas a constant ploy of yours, the liberal media, and the dems is to rejoice in Americans being killed to empthazie your point that war is bad.

Well contrary to your belief, if you can call it that, but even us evil neo-con warmongering chickenhawks will agree to that. War is bad, people die it is a sad unfortunate fact of life just as sometimes the need for war is. It doesnt mean we shouldnt fight back, and it doesnt mean that America is wrong. No more than any other war we have ever fought. I just thank my lucky stars that traitors such as yourself while always there never had the soapbox that you do now as this country would not nearly be as great as we are today if you and your ilk had your druthers.

... and on that note note Im off to Shea. You have a nice weekend and may I suggest that it might be a good idea to put some ice on your axe-wound, cause damn son your pussy done got knocked the fucked out.

The "surge is working" marketing spin is in full gear, especially regarding Anbar, where we are following the curious policy of arming the Sunni insurgents to battle an estimated 850 al Qaeda.

That is the context in which I mentioned that 7 American soldiers died in Iraq on Friday. You accuse me (again) of delighting in the deaths of American troops and call me a traitor. For the last time.

I'm outa here. You and Rhino can talk to yourselves from now on.
