The Whole Damn Court Is Out Of Order

This may very well be the stupidest Supreme Court ruling in years. Carbon Dioxide is an "air pollutant"?" If you doubt that environmental alarmism is a political and not a scientific movement, look no further than this ruling.

"Natural sources of atmospheric carbon dioxide include volcanic outgassing, the combustion of organic matter, and the respiration processes of living aerobic organisms; man-made sources of carbon dioxide come mainly from the burning of fossil fuels for heating, power generation and transport. It is also produced by various microorganisms from fermentation and cellular respiration. Plants convert carbon dioxide to carbohydrates during a process called photosynthesis." 1

Why not nitrogen, or for that matter oxygen? Oh that's right, they just don't have that same green chic as the oh so trendy CO2. The science has yet to be decided on this matter, and the legislators (judiciary included) are already getting warmed up. This is just frickin stupid.

Stupidity I can live with, but this is dangerous, and I echo Czech President Vaclav Klaus sentiment completely.

"As someone who lived under communism for most of my life I feel obliged to say that the biggest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy and prosperity at the beginning of the 21st century is not communism or its various softer variants," President Klaus replied. Rather, "Communism was replaced by the threat of ambitious environmentalism." 2

Rumor has it the only reason they didn't define methane as an "air pollutant" as well, is that with all the shit coming out of their own mouths, it would render D.C. a toxic waste site.

EE-Aw!!!

totally unrelated subject ... and i hate to say this because i (finally) realize that i fundamentally disagree with you 99.38% of the time ... and also have come to another realization that you are very serious and not just playing the devil's advocate ... which is what i meant by "contrarian" by the way ... (i do realize 'contrarian' is more a financial or economic term .. hey, i ain't an idjit (well mostly not).

but, anyway ...

i must give you guys kudos. this blog has become (globally, i'm not just referring to a specific post) a very well-written blog ... excellent combination of humour and seriousness. lots of outrage appropriately appropriately channeled (well, 'kinda' on the last part).

if you weren't so right-wing, you might even be nominated for a koufax award.

well, maybe not. but maybe. who knows. i'm confused. as usual.

have a nice day.

Im sure you know what contrarian means, but when I see an opportunity to quote The Princess Bride I take it.

Thanks for the Kudos.

You know the left is never successful. They will not be any more successful in their war on global warming than they were at their war on poverty. They always acheive the opposite of what they intend. They wanted to educate everyone in the interests of the poor and now we have the worst educational system for the poor, thanks to them. They are forever tilting at windmills. We need to stop tripping on their tripping. Let em try their damnedest. It will work about as well as Communism did. They will force their will on the third world, demanding that the third world engage in rabid environmentalism in the Western leftist scientific model. The third world will get sick of their shit and rise up and throw off the leftist yoke and start killing animals, consuming luxury items and driving up a storm, pun intended.
