Pat Buchanan on the trap he believes Bush has set for the Democrats and their shameless gamble of making troop funding contingent on their political trickery.
As a side, isn't it funny how you cant fire federal attys for political reasons, yet troop funding is open game in their twisted sense of political righteousness.

Buchanan is a smart guy but I think he is off base here. Bush will veto the Democrat's bill, they do not have the votes to override and, in the end, they will approve funding for the troops. Then, when Iraq goes all to hell, they can say they tried. Dems win in 08.
The surge isn't working and will not work and Bush has no plan B.
