Something As Important as Freedom

Once again the nytimes doesnt disappoint. Marine Cpl. Jeffrey B. Starr is one of America's fallen Heroes, yet the nyslimes gleefully celebrates the physical corpse of the man as opposed to the spirit within him and every man and woman in our Armed Forces. Said Starr "I don't regret going, everybody dies but few get to do it for something as important as freedom." They have the gall to twist this mans words to denigrate the very thing that he believed so dearly in. Shame on them and that is exactly why they are a failing business. It seems everyone "quotes" the times but doesnt look like anyone actually reads it anymore. As a rule selling lies isnt exactly the best business model. Is it so difficult to show some respect and appreciation for the fallen of our
great country...The United States Of America. I wouldnt dare be so arrogant (nor should the slimes) to claim to know what makes these brave men and women tick, but whatever it is...we should all thank GOD for it and for them, not throw a fargin birthday party with cake and candles when they perish defending freedom.

Had so much fun with Miss Garofalo in the last post, I thought it would be interesting to take a poke at her frontman Al Franken...she's the Robin to his Batman. He's the voice of uninformed liberal fans of public radio to her, um...well, I'm not exactly sure what she is but I sure did think it was funny that they were both captured on camera crying when Bush-whacked Kerry in the last election. Its very hard to take the anti-war movement seriously (Patrick J Buchanan notwithstanding) when their leaders are kooks like Cindy Sheehan, communist front groups like A.N.S.W.E.R, disgraced mobster ministers such as Jesse Jackson, Hollywood half-wits such as Garofalo, Penn, Streisand et al, "entrepeneurs" like Soros whose fortune was made shorting foreign countries currencies to the point of bankrupting them (real nice guy) , and paranoia propaganda profiteers such as Michael Moore...and now from across the pond the socialist George Galloway. Its absolutely incredible to me how "men" such as Galloway (and the Kofi's of the World)... men whose hands are dirty with oil, blood, and spoiled food meant for Iraqi children...that they have the audacity to claim a moral high ground in this War On Terror. Dont even get me started on the cheese eating surrender moneys...back to Galloway. Oops! Go ahead and rant on your soap box it is your right to be a jackass, but when you perjure yourself in front of The Congress of The U.S.A and are found to have aided the Saddam Slaughter and Loan Bank ...there will be hell to pay. Perhaps youre not familiar with the story of Gen Andrew Jackson's Seminole Wars and the military tribunal that resulted in the hanging of two British subjects found guilty of inciting Seminole Indian attacks against American civilians. United Nations: The final report on the oil-for-food scandal has been released, to little fanfare. How sad so few people, apart from policy wonks, will read it. It's a stunning indictment of the U.N.'s current leadership.
Maybe it's just an accident that the U.N.'s report on the biggest financial scandal in history was released amid the political maelstrom of the Harriet Miers fiasco and the possible indictment of two key presidential aides, thus ensuring it would get little coverage. But we doubt it.
The first news accounts of the so-called Volcker Commission's final report emphasized that 2,200 out of 4,500 companies that were involved in the U.N.'s $67 billion oil-for-food program — set up to let Saddam Hussein sell oil to buy food, medicine and other necessities for the Iraqi people — had paid bribes.
It's true. Those companies — among them, Daimler-Chrysler, Volvo, Glaxo-SmithKline and Novartis — paid bribes. And those bribes let Saddam steal $11 billion from the program.
But who, we wonder, looked the other way as bribes were paid? Who served as middlemen? And who, besides Saddam, profited?
The answer is uncomfortable for the U.N. and its many defenders. Saddam had paid off hundreds of officials around the world, like pro-Saddam British MP George Galloway, former French government official and Chirac ally Charles Pasqua, France's envoy to the U.N. Jean-Bernard Merrimee and Russian politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky.
But it was the U.N. itself, as venal as any mob-run enterprise, that made the corruption of its own program possible — "facilitated it," in U.N.-speak.
The Volcker report, while highlighting corporate malfeasance, also shows conclusively that the U.N. crooks who ran oil for food gave preference to French, Russian and Chinese companies.
Why? The easiest answer is they were the most corruptible. But they're also all members of the U.N. Security Council and thus had enormous clout in deciding what the U.N. would do.
Which explains why all three countries were big advocates of ending the U.N.'s 1990s-era sanctions against Saddam's evil regime. They hoped, as cheaters do, to prosper in a post-sanction Iraq from Saddam's gratitude for their help.
What is most disturbing is the complicity of the United Nations itself. Indeed, the organization's misconduct would fill a small library. To wit:
The man handpicked by General-Secretary Kofi Annan to head the program, Benon Sevan, took bribes; Annan's son, Kojo, was awarded a high-level job with Cotecna, the company that won the U.N. contract to administer the program; and U.N. bureaucrats, directed by Annan's chief of staff, Iqbal Riza, shredded documents that might incriminate the global agency as the investigation got under way. The litany of misconduct goes on and on.
It's clear that, at the bare minimum, Annan's tenure as the U.N.'s top official is no longer tenable. He must resign — or be fired. It's also clear that the U.N. is so rife with corruption and dishonesty it can no longer serve its intended purpose.
To say the U.N. needs "reform" is useless. At this point, it might be better to end the U.N.'s mandate and start completely anew.

A few things on my mind....

Why isn't everyone calling for the resignation of Kofi Annan? The latest report coming out of the U.N. is that 2000 companies were illegally doing business with Iraq. Gee I wonder why the U.N. was against us taking action over there? ............................


It's a good thing the Isreali's pulled out of Gaza so now everyone can be reasonable and we can all just get along. I said it then and I am saying it again right now. These people don't understand reason, they understand strength, to them, the Gaza withdrawal was a retreat and they feel emboldened by it. My thought is lets just take the handcuffs off of Isreal. If we don't, we'll be in there fighting again to protect them, if we let them do their thing, they'll handle Iran themselves, and send a message to the rest of the arab countries that the gloves are off..................

When will we get serious about immigration? It seems that at least 80,000 violent felon illegal aliens are roaming the streets of the U.S. and we have no real will to capture them. Many of these illegals are from terrorist states by the way. Very disturbing...............................

It is also a fact. Joe Wilson wrote a NY Slimes editorial claiming that Bush lied, but actually he (wilson) lied. He lied to congress, and joined the kerry campaign. Why is Rove and Libby under possible indictment? Why is the Washington Post defending wilson? I know you know why, that was a rhetorical question...........

One more thing about Isreal. I just read this a couple of minutes ago. Joseph Farah is dead on here......

R.I.P. Wellington Mara & Rosa Park

Although I am a Jets fan (how unfortunate for me), I cannot even begin to say what a class act and what a wonderful person Wellington Mara was...I don't want to steal anything from Giants fans as they grieve but his story is the story of the NFL. With him, the NFL became a league and became a dominant force in pro sports which is a hugmongous part of our lives. He brought leagues together, strung championship banner after championship banner up in his stadiums over the course of many decades, and you never heard him say a thing negative. Not when one of his employees made a mistake or got in trouble and he certainly never said anything in defeat. In fact you very rarely heard from him at all. He was there though and he was as instrumental as anyone in making football the success it is in this country...more so in my opinion. It is interesting to me that he died within 24 hours of another great American named Rosa Parks...She was brave when others around her couldn't be and she did with the smallest action what speeches,screaming and hollering could not do and still don't do today...not to compare the two in any way as individuals but more to point out the similar cumulative effect they both had on society as a whole. With their genuine class and quiet dignity they both championed their passion into something greater than themselves. It is a sad day for America as we lose these two people who in my opinion did more to change the landscape of our culture than we can recognize at this time.

Now Im confused. We all know that W was responsible for Katrina and the impact it had on the helpless "darkies" uh I mean the "colored" wait thats no good either...I mean the impact it had on the disenfranchised African American Community. We all know that right? Well watch the upcoming docturedumentaries by Spike Lee and Michael Moore and you will see the light you will see the light you will see the light repeat after me you will see the light. But what up with Wilma W? Why the Cubanos? Why George why? They were a solid voting block for you in '00 and '04. Are you that upset with the conservative backlash over your crony's SCOTUS nomination that you'd be willing to sacrifice the future Cuban refugee um I mean evacuee vote for your party. Maybe you just miscalculated and were only intending to flood the Rio Grande to stop the Mexicans (but you don't care about that do you), because if you did I don't think Ill ever be able to get over Nacho Grande. And what up with The Conch Republic? They are a harmless island of chickens and crackas. Maybe you finally found your inner Reaganism and feel you owe him one for their secession from the U.S.A in '82. For the love of God have you never stumbled from pub to pub on Duvall St(you useta do that right?), saw Pat Dailey perform at Sloppy Joe's, or witnessed the nirvana that is a wet t-shirt contest at Rick's. For if you had I know in my heart you would have spared them your weather controlling wrath. I plead with you George W (the Weather Master) Bush please stop this madness. I guess the Guess Who were right 'Cause it's the new Mother Nature taking over'

Mascot(s) of the Week

Playing the "Plame" game.

It seems that this week we will get the final decision on the Valerie Plame cia leak case. I think it's important to get the facts straight before we get the news from the special prosecutor.
First of all, the original charge that was to be investigated was the 1982 Intelligence Identities Protection Act. In order to violate this law, a person would have had to deliberately and maliciously exposed Ms. Plame knowing that she was an undercover agent and using information he'd obtained in an official capacity. Ms. Plame was surely not undercover, and hadn't been for over 9 years when the news came out. In my mind that should be enough to end the whole investigation, or not begin it in the first place. It's like investigating someone for murder, then finding the supposed victim alive. OOPS my bad, no crime has been committed, case closed have a nice day.
So now the investigation is whether or not certain officials lied to the grand jury. Ok, if they lied to the grand jury about a crime that wasn't committed that's still a crime, and i think a slap on the wrist is warranted.
Now who lied that we know of? Oh that would be Joe Wilson, the Kerry for president operative, and the person who started this whole mess. He lied about his wife sending him to Africa in the first place, Mr. Wilson's original claims about what he found on a CIA trip to Africa, what he told the CIA about it, and even why he was sent on the mission have since been discredited.
It seems to me that this whole thing is politically motivated. From what I have read so far about Fitzgerald, he seems to be a fair man, lets hope he does the right thing here.

I Want To Party With That Guy

And I thought the "adult" movie prices in hotel rooms were egregious, but this is ridonkulous! This guy isnt the brightest CEO in the tree. Number 1 there are better gentlemen clubs in NYC. Number 2 Never Ever NEVER use a credit card at a strip club especially Scores, where they charge a 30% fee for "diamond dollars" purchased on a card.(i heard that from some guy that knew a guy that had a cousin) No wonder this guys company's stock is under a buck. Hopefully for this guy Chris Rock was wrong.

No Man Deserved Less At Her Hands

I have to be honest I feel no pity for this man, however it did remind me of one of my favorite short stories The Man Without a Country By Edward Everett Hale. I could throw a few cliches around such as "Be careful what you wish for" or "You dont appreciate something until its gone" but instead I will implore of you to read this story and make your own interpretations of what Patriotism means to people such as this and more importantly what it means to you.

Irish X-Games

Two Irishmen walk into the pet shop in Dingle. They head into the bird section where Paddy says to Gerry, "Dat's dem". The owner asks if he can help them. "Yeah, we'll take four of dem dere little budgies in dat cage up there," says Gerry. The owner puts the budgies into a paper bag. Paddy and Gerry pay for the birds, leave the shop and get into Gerry's truck to drive to the top of Connor Pass. At the Connor Pass, Gerry looks down at the 1000 feet drop and says, "Dis looks like a grand place." He takes two of the birds out of the bag, puts them on his shoulders and jumps off the cliff. Paddy watches as Gerry falls to the bottom, killing himself stone dead. Looking down at the remains of his best pal, Paddy shakes his head and says, "Fook dat. Dis budgie jumpin' is too fook'n dangerous for me!"

THERE'S MORE.....


Moments later, Seamus arrives up at the Connor Pass. He's been to the pet shop too and walks up to the edge of the cliff carrying a paper bag in one hand and a shotgun in the other. "Hullo Paddy. Watch dis," Seamus says. He removes a Parrot from the bag and throws himself over the edge of the cliff. Paddy watches as halfway down, Seamus aims the gun and shoots the Parrot. Seamus continues to plummet down until he too hits bottom, breaks every bone in his body and is smashed to a pulp. Paddy shakes his head and says, " And I'm never trying dat parrotshooting either ! "


ITS NOT OVER YET....


Paddy is just gettting over the shock of losing two of his friends when Sean O'Leary appears. He also has a paper bag out which he pulls a chicken. He grabs the chicken by each wing and also hurls himself over the cliff, disappearing down and down until he hits a rock and breaks his spine. Once again Paddy is shaking his head. "Fook dat, lads. First dere was Gerry wit his budgie-jumpin', den Seamus parrotshooting and now Sean O'Leary and his fook'n hengliding !

So sayeth Carmen just for example.Carmen I implied no such thing...as usual you are wrong when you make such assumptions Tara this war, like every other war in history is going horribly...people are dying and suffering, towns are burning...I imagine like every other war it will remain that way until we win, lose, or retreat. I know which result Im hoping for.

Lets see...Im an ass, a wingnut and a parrot. Now thats constructive discussion. Carmen I actually did defer to two of the things you cited as examples from your personal experience. I have never singled out the individual or the bureaucracy I blamed both. You hear what you want to hear.Its rather silly for us to stick our head in the ground and say there is no need for further reform. In fact I would wager that I could dig through the site's archives and find this exact discussion where all would be in agreement, yet since I am involved it becomes a quarrelsome matter. To be completely honest I was thinking that this thread would revolve around my SAC. Disregarding those that are unable to fend for themselves, the justification and intent of welfare should be for the promotion of self-dependancy and the escape of the gerbil wheel of poverty. If you think that we are doing everything that we could as a society and as efficiently as possible then perhaps it is I that should walk away from this thread and allow y'all to continue your ostrichassery.In closing I would like to say....LETS GO METS!!!

I endorse and intend to vote for Thomas V. Ognibene for Mayor. Partly because I hate RINO's like Mike (no offense Rhino) partly because I think Freddy is Dinkins The Sequel, but mostly because I want my taxes lowered and if not I want to be able to bitch about it at the pub over a beer and a smoke. Does my candidate have a shot?...in a word...NO! Do I think my vote will be wasted?...in a word...Not a farging chance! Whoever ends up in Gracie Mansion will feel the Donkey's roar or at the very least my EE-AWW.

Tax cuts for the rich...

A major topic coming up on blogs run by ultra liberals, i mean other than how republicans are hitler, is tax cuts for the rich. It's starting to drive me crazy because these people are so uninformed, and uneducated on the topic. I usually like to at least read something on a subject before i blog about it, this way i can include a link as a refence. It seems to me that most of these bloggers just regurgitate what their friends say. Lets set the record straight, the top one percent of taxpayers paid 34.3 percent of all federal income taxes in 2003, although they earned just 16.8 percent of the adjusted gross income. The top five percent of taxpayers paid more than half of all federal income taxes, the top 10 percent paid two-thirds, and the top half of taxpayers paid 96.5 percent, meaning that the bottom half paid just 3.5 percent.
Another IRS report decomposed the top one percent and found that the top ten percent of the top one percent (the top 0.1 percent) increased their share of all federal income taxes from seven percent in 1980 to 15.3 percent in 2003. These 129,000 tax filers earned 7.6 percent of the income and paid an average tax rate of 23.6 percent. This came to $114.6 billion—four times more than all the taxes paid by the 64 million taxpayers in the bottom 50 percent—who paid an average tax rate of 2.9 percent. An across the board tax cut means everyone who pays taxes gets a cut. These cuts should be permanent. Reagan cut the top tax rate, and the economy boomed, Bush cut taxes, and our economy has come out of a recession and has been really moving for a couple of years now. I say cut some more, everyone benefits.

A Jornalist's Worth

We often give reporters a hard time for letting too much of their own personal opinion drip onto the news itself but in a time when there is such evidence of bias we are even more critical. However, I think it is also important to give them their due for putting themselves in harms way to report even if it turns out to be an opinion piece rather than news (who,what when, where, why & how being the criteria of an actual journalistic piece). Michael Yon who we laud on this page for being one of the best journalists out there just posted recently regarding what it takes to be a reporter embedded in Iraq. When you see what they go through, it makes you feel for them regardless of their opinion of this war (pro or con). They are heroes regardless of their affiliation. Yon points out that this is not a war like WWII where there is glory for reporters with liberation and defined victories. It is a war where most in the American government feel that the media portrays them in a poor light but to compound matters, our enemy also feels the media is out to get them...They are alone in a sea of confusion. No one is their friend. I think it might be time to applaud their resolve and let them know what they are worth to us.

Been sitting here with my ass in a wad, wanting to speak out about the
bullshit going on in New Orleans. For the people of New Orleans... First we
would like to say, sorry for your loss. With that said, let's go through a
few hurricane rules: (Unlike an earthquake, we know it's coming)

#1. A mandatory evacuation means just that...Get the hell out.
Don't blame the Government after they tell you to go. If they hadn't said
anything, I can see the argument. They said get out... if you didn't, it's your fault, not theirs.

(We don't want to hear it, even if you don't have a car, you can get out.)

#2. If there is an emergency, stock up on water and non-perishables. If you
didn't do this, it's not the Government's fault you're starving.
#2a. If you run out of food and water, find a store that has some.
(Remember, shoes, TV's, DVD's and CD's are not edible. Leave them alone.)

#2b. If the local store has been looted of food or water, leave your
neighbor's TV and stereo alone. (See #2a) They worked hard to get their
stuff! Just because they were smart enough to leave during a mandatory
evacuation, doesn't give you the right to take their stuff...it's theirs, not yours.

#3. If someone comes in to help you, don't shoot at them and then complain
no one is helping you. I'm not getting shot to help save some dumb ass who
didn't leave when told to do so.

#4. If you are in your house that is completely under water, your belongings
are probably too far gone for anyone to want them. If someone does want
them, let them have them and hopefully they'll die in the filth. Just leave!
(It's New Orleans, find a voodoo warrior and put a curse on them)

#5. My tax money should not pay to rebuild a 2 million dollar house, a
sports stadium or a floating casino. Also, my tax money shouldn't go to
rebuild a city that is under sea level. You wouldn't build your house on
quicksand would you? You want to live below sea-level, do your country some
good and join the Navy.

#6. Regardless of what the Poverty Pimps Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton want
you to believe, The US Government didn't create the Hurricane as a way to
eradicate the black people of New Orleans (Neither did Russia as a way to
destroy America). The US Government didn't cause global warming that caused the hurricane.
(We've been coming out of an ice age for over a million years)

#7. The government isn't responsible for giving you anything. This is the
land of the free and the home of the brave, but you gotta work for what you
want. McDonalds and Wal-Mart are always hiring, get a damn job and stop
spooning off the people who are actually working for a living. President
Kennedy said it best..."Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what
you can do for your country."

Speaking Of Umbrellas

I think this country is in dire need of legislation requiring some sort of heavy machinery/drivers license to operate an umbrella. Anyone over 6'5 would be exempt. Ive yet to speak to my Zogby connections regarding this matter but going out on a limb I would dare say that more people have suffered injuries due to reckless umbrella usage than by drunken stevedores. All Im saying is that if you cant decipher the discrepency in height between you, your umbrella, and oncoming pedestrial traffic and are optically unable to notice that the metal spikes on your rain deflection equipment are perfectly lined up to someones eyes you should lose your right to use an umbrella forever and be forced to wear a bright yellow rain hat...and heck, matching galoshes to boot ...to further your shame. Shame on you umbrella slackers!

Morris Dees: Hate Is His Business, And Business Is Good

This is a follow up to my previous post about the American Citizen Casey Nethercott that lost his land to the illegal aliens he caught entering this country.

If you ever wondered why all the lawyer jokes...look no further than Morris Dees, the lawyer that represented the criminal invaders Edwin Alfredo Mancia Gonzales and Fatima del Socorro Leiva Medina, both illegal immigrants from El Salvador against Mr Nethercott. Funny thing is before Dees got his hands on them, both Edwin and Mancia made statements to the police that Casey Nethercott and his ranch hands provided blankets and cookies to them...next thing you know they are making sworn statements that they were "abused" by their "captor".
Unfortunately for America this isnt a simple case of typical laywer greed, although the non-profit organization Dees founded Southern Poverty Law Center (why is it that all the bad orgs have such nice friendly names?)is one of the wealthiest civil rights? (sic) groups in the country. This is a bad guy. He not only profits from "hate" but perpetuates it and creates it when need be to make a buck. He's made millions off hate (even though his group is not recognized by the the BBC Charity for refusing to disclose its finances) because he is paid to divide and destroy this country, whether it be white v black, black v white, north v south, and now illegal aliens v American citizens. This is a bad guy.
Dees served in 1958 as state campaign manager for segregationist attorney general candidate McDonald Gallion and also worked for George C. Wallace. Fuller stated: "We wanted to be sure of having friends in high places."

In 1961 when Freedom Riders were beaten by a white mob at a Montgomery bus station, Dees [and Fuller] expressed openly his sympathies and support for what had happened at the bus station.

When one of the men charged with beating the Freedom Riders came to their office for legal representation, Dees and Fuller took the case. Why the change of tune Mr Dees...did the KKK's check bounce and you had to move on to more profitable pastures? What is it with these "civil rights" leaders, and since when is being opposed to illegal immigration and believing in the right to defend our border make you a "racist". Dees is the the worst type of scum...he is a demagogic race baiting hate mongering scalawag. He is no idealogue...he is proven that he is willing to profit from dividing people racially and culturally and now he is willing to sacrifice the security of this country for the sake of his own greenback greed driven politics. Blackmun And White Woman

Know thy enemy. Lest we forget which party got us into the trouble we are currently in with the Supreme Court, and Ill give you a clue...it wasnt the democrats. Harry Blackmun who was nominated by Milhous was perhaps one of the most conservative judges (and close personal friend of Warren Burger) in the land BEFORE he sat on the SCOTUS bench...next thing we know hes writing the majority opinion for Roe v Wade. JP Stephens, the most liberal judge currently sitting on the bench was appointed by Gerry Ford. Ronnie gave us Kennedy and O'Connor. Bush I ...Souter (enough said). So considering that Republicans have controlled the White House for 24 out of the past 36 years, and have nominated 7 out of the 9 justices...how the hell is it that we have a "liberal court"? Because we "trusted them". Not this time!

Thats about the best idea Ive heard since the Iraq Oil for Food program, or allowing the Sudanese slave trade, the pedophiliac raping of the Congo, or "protecting" the citizens of East Timor, heck the UN couldnt even protect artifacts in Afghanistan dating 2000 years old and now they want the Net??? Looks like its time to go back to paying my bills the ole fashioned way with checks stamps and *gasp* envelopes, and renewing my subscription to Playboy.

The V Files (As In Roe V Wade)

Lets do the math. Kelo v. City of New London ruling benefits corporate america...corporate america benefits politicians...all politicians. Im not anti-business and Im not much of a conspiracy theorist, but it doesnt take a Fox Mulder to realize our hen house is being robbed right from under our noses. Seems all the talk in regards to Roberts and Miers and all judges for that matter from BOTH sides is Roe V Wade...meanwhile our property rights are being stolen as we continue to bicker about a 30+ old ruling. Law abiding tax paying citizens are losing their homes due to systematic bureacratic greed. Roe V Wade is settled law, but will never be agreed upon by all sides and that is specifically the purpose that it serves, to distract the public from the real issue of the socialization of our country from big government. Ask 100 people about abortion...and itll probally be 50/50 ask 100 people how they feel about the government taking their land to give to Starbucks and you will have unanimity, and that scares the living shiite out of the land grabbing crooks and keeps them in power...the longer we continue to argue the less of our country we will have when we wake up and smell the grande loco mocho jackasschino.

But her qualifications for the Supreme Court are nonexistent. She is not a brilliant jurist -- indeed, has never been a judge. She is not a scholar of the law. Researchers are hard-pressed to dig up an opinion. She has not had a brilliant career in politics, the academy, the corporate world or the public forum. Were she not a friend of Bush, and female, she would never have even been considered.

If the traitor John Mccain and his crew hadn't agreed to take the "nuclear" option off the table, would Bush have picked harriet miers? I don't think so.....

If Chuck Schumer, and Harry Reid like this pick, and we hear that Reid actually suggested her at one point, is this a pick that the party base could be happy with?

Couldn't we fillibuster this supreme court pick? Think about it, if you were a conservative in congress, and you fillibustered harriet miers, wouldn't that make you supremely popular with the base? wouldn't that give you a leg up for the party nomination in 2008? couldn't you use that to show the voters on both sides that you stand on principle and give you some kind of moral high ground?

I have no problem with Tagliabue trying to expand the NFL south of the border or even globally for that matter, especially since the league is in need of quality kickers but I find it hypocritical, panderous and unpatriotic that the same league that would fine a player for wearing a decal honoring Pat Tillman now feels no shame putting a big green advertisement on the back of their helmets in a foreign language. Are you ready for some SOCCER!!! Um no.
While Im ranting... this from a league that now bans coaches from wearing suits and ties and mandate they wear "licensed" products on the sidelines. Its not always about market share and making a buck...better class it up Tags or youll end up like the NBA.

Et Tu Bush?

It is now clear to me that the Republican Party and George W Bush specifically have turned their backs on the Conservatives that put them in office. In regards to the Iraq war I always gave W and his neocon junta the benefit of the doubt because I always felt whether I agreed with the Iraq War or not it is best to err on the side of strength than weakness in the War on Terror. However, the Supreme Court is a whole different matter. Now dont get me wrong both Roberts and Miers may turn out to be fine jurists in the Scalia and Thomas mold...but they might be Souters and O'Connors in Republican clothing, we dont know, and that is where W betrayed his Conservative constituency. He took the road so often travelled by career politicians, promise the voters one thing and then once elected to go right back the the old boy school of cronyism. Shame on Bush for being so arrogant to think only those in his "inner circle" are qualified for such posts. Shame on Bush for being afraid of the fight that lay ahead when he kept his promise to conservative voters by nominating a strict constitutionalist. Shame on Bush for being a p#ssy. This could be the straw that broke the Republican Party's back. Conservatives have become the blacks of the Republican party, but "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."
