The other white meat

All day, I watch CNBC and they have been interviewing politicians every day about pork barrel spending. It's driving me crazy, because I hear these people talking about giving back the pork, and they don't even try to hide the fact that it's not necessary spending!!!
I mean they're not even trying to lie about it, they just admit that they're spending money, to spend money, and they don't want to give it back, unless everyone else gives back theirs!!! Am I the only person who is offended by this? This is my money they're spending! This is your money that they're spending, and they don't NEED this money, they just WANT this money! I'm not picking sides, because everyone is guilty of this, but at least they should lie to us!! Please tell me the bridge to nowhere is needed for something! Please, justify it, or else why are you spending my money? I have seen Congressman Harold Ford Jr.(D) Tennessee at least 3 times in the last week and a half saying he'll give up all of his pork if everyone else will!!! What?? So you admit that you're wasting my money, but you're going to continue to waste it unless everyone else gives up their waste too! And just to be fair, since i named a democrat, what the F is up with Chuck Grassley (R) Iowa? Apparently he thinks a rainforest in Iowa is a good idea, and the funding shouldn't be cut, because it was promised and approved over a year ago!!! These people should all be removed from office immediately!

Gov. Janet Napolitano Hates America

This is a follow-up to the previous post from Rhinoculous. This will be an ongoing post to expose the America Haters involved in this conspiracy to steal this country away from its citizens. In the spirit of The Great American Sen Joe McCarthy I will henceforth be known as McDonkeyhue and will do my small part to reveal these traitors for the commies that they truly are.

...Casey Nethercott was not arrested at the scene of the "alleged crime" where he gave the "victims" blankets and cookies. He was arrested days later strictly on the whim of janet napolitano by issuing a "Governors Warrant" under the cloud of the Patriot Act...you didnt read that incorrectly...The Patriot Act was used against an American Citizen who was defending his property and the border of this country from the
invasion of illegal aliens to further her socialist agenda and perhaps garner a few illegal votes to boot. He was not convicted of the fraudulent charges brought against him by the Salvadorian criminals, but for illegal possession of a firearm (got second amendment?) janet has been called the illegal aliens governor and for good reason. In her three years as governor of Arizona she has vetoed bills one which would deny in-state tuition and day care for illegal aliens and one that would allow law enforcement to do their jobs and enforce immigration laws, she has vetoed a bill making English the official language, and she has vetoed a voter identification bill only to be corrected by the U.S. Department of Justice . This from a woman that declares a "State of Emergency" regarding the illegal alien situation in her state (see Richardson NM) to receive federal funds and to look tough on crime and then has the audacity to throw a paltry 1.5 million at the problem while her state spends more than 2 million for a bicycle/pedestrial bridge in Phoenix. In the plainest language I can summon I hereby declare in my opinion that Gov. Janet Napolitano does not love her State, does not love her Country. She has consistently vetoed the voters of Arizona's wishes and betrayed the oath of office she swore to uphold. She is a bad person and I predict her career in politics will be brief albeit damaging. Arizonans take back your state in '06 .

Next posts commie... Morris Dees, the attorney that represented the ILLEGAL aliens against the America Citizen in this case.

Where am I?

Is this America? I've asked this question before, and i'm asking again. If this is America, how come i don't recognize it? Today I heard for the first time the story of Casey Nethercott. Maybe i'm behind in my news reading, but i don't know how i missed this one. Apparently Mr. Nethercott removed some illegal aliens from his ranch, after giving them cookies and blankets, and they sued him. They said they were victims, and because Mr. Nethercott had an "illegal" firearm, he lost, and was convicted of a crime. Mr. Nethercott is now in jail, and these two illegal aliens own his ranch!! If i didn't know it was true, i wouldn't believe it! Why do these people get to sue anyone? Why do they have any rights at all? Why wouldn't the ACLU come to the aid of the American citizen who's civil liberties have been violated? (ok, just kidding on that last one). This is the craziest story I've ever heard, and unfortunately it's true. I tell you what, If i'm a rancher in Texas, and I get some illegals tresspassing on my property, I'm just killing these guys and feeding them to the buzzards in the desert.

The Most Dangerous Show On TV

Why dont they just name it "Hillary For Prez". Naah... Hollywood doesnt have an agenda here. I wonder if the "equal time" laws should start being applied to shows such as this one and others such as "The Left Wing". This why the only network show that I watch is American Idol.

Windfall Profits?

Let me tell you what it is in case you haven't heard of it. Byron Dorgan (D) North Dakota has proposed a tax on "excess profits" being made by the oil and other energy companies in this country. What??????? I don't know where to start! Is this really a proposal? When will Atlas Shrug?

Art Imitating Life?

Edith? Yes but Archie too...

In other words, it doesn't take a village, it just requires two parents. John Leo points out in this article All in the Family, that studies have been done, controlled for race and income etc. and the facts are there. Children born to single mothers who have never been married are the most likely demographic to commit crime, and to be impoverished. This is not news, it has been out there for a long time. Someone i knew a long time ago, who grew up in Brooklyn NY in the 50's told me that when he was a kid, Brooklyn was completely segregated, not just by race, but even nationality. The thing is, he said if you didn't see the people, you couldn't tell the difference between them. Everyone took care of their hoods, they had pride, and took care of their own. He also told me that the problem of teenagers being pregnant and having children out of wedlock was very rare, and this was well before roe v wade by the way. However as my old friend told me, that all changed when the state started taking care of people, and after abortion on demand became no big deal. What is your motivation to abstain when you can just have an abortion? What is the motivation to stay and make your marriage work when the state will feed your children? I know people will say that i am being overly simplistic, but i don't think so, and the studies are there, more importantly, experience and experienced people have told us the truth for years.

Stuck on Stupid

In this article, David Limbaugh hits the nail on the head on two different points. First of all he points out that the democratic establishment is "stuck on stupid" because they hate Bush so much that they have failed to come up with any other strategy or idea except to attack him, and secondly, and more disturbingly, he points out that the republican leadership is "stuck on stupid" because they are afraid to stick to the ideals that got them elected in the first place. People try to give B.J. Clinton credit for the social reforms during his presidency, they ignore the Contract with America that led to those reforms, which was championed by Newt Gingrich. The "Contract" led to a republican revolution and helped to wrest control of congress from the dems for the first time in decades! You would think the winners would stick to the ideals that got them into power, but even Newt himself has let us down. Bush was elected as a conservative, not a big spending liberal, but you can hardly tell from the way he has enlarged the size of government in the last few years! If the republican leadership doesn't shift back to the right, fiscally and socially, we're going to be looking at another president Clinton, and i'm not sure this country can survive that!

Democrats Hate Black People

Im sorry I should correct that. Democrats hate successful black people that dont vote for them or agree with them, such as Lt Gov Michael Steele of Maryland. These are the same people that ran "racist" Trent Lott out of town for saying a few kind words for an old mans 100th birthday party...yet when members of their party (a staff member of U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y) commit a felony to disparage a good "black" mans name because he may or may not have financial difficulties, little a peep is heard. Here you have The Congressional Black Caucus and the NAACP busy blaming Katrina on a "racist" Bush and probaly sharpening their steely knives as we speak in anticipation of Rita, while an actual case of "The Man" (schumer) trying to "hold" a "brother"(Steele) down and not a word is said, not a rally held, not a march to be well um i guess marched. One of these days soon the divisive, separtist, and racist policies and the arrogant manner in which the dem's take the African American vote for granted will come back to haunt them, and when asked of my prediction for the future of the democratic party I will quote the great Southside Slugger Clubber Lang. My prediction?

Constitution Lesson # 2

"This is a Republican Frenzy! I'm Republican, And I'm having a frenzy!" (it's about time I quoted FZ)
If there has ever been any doubt that inside every liberal is a
pinko commie bastard dying to get out, look to further than their oft repeated mantra... "Separation of Church and State"
They are correct in that, that specific phrase is indeed mentioned in the constitution...
Article 52 [Religion]
(1) Citizens of the USSR are guaranteed freedom of conscience, that is, the right to profess or not to profess any religion, and to conduct religious worship or atheistic propaganda. Incitement of hostility or hatred on religious grounds is prohibited.(2) In the USSR, the church is separated from the state, and the school from the church.
... only problem is that it is in the
The Constitution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics of 1977
. The Establishment Clause makes no mention nor does it imply that there should be a wall between "church and state". In fact it states the oppostite, that there should be NO government interference whatsoever.
Bill of Rights
Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I know I know, before you commies even say it..yes Thomas Jefferson did mention "
the Wall" in a letter to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802 , but that is as relevant as the Pink Floyd album of the same name inasmuch that neither of them are the actual Constitution of The United States of America...and that my friends is the crux of the matter...ask 100 people on the street if "separation of church and state" is in the Constitution and Ill bet you dollars to donuts that the majority would answer that it is. WRONG JACKASSES!!! Once again the libbies/commies use the age old tactic of repeating a falsehood enough times in hope that people will eventually believe it to be fact...unfortunately for America...it's working. Fight the Power!!!

Constitution Lesson #1

Im not here to argue the legality, the morality, nor the science of abortion. What I take umbrage with is the fact that it has become the end all be all litmus test for all federal judicial appointees. Is there nothing else in the Constitution to discuss? Regarding the nomination of John Roberts for Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (which I oppsose for other reasons)
"It would be very difficult for me to vote to confirm someone to the Supreme Court whom I knew would overturn Roe and return our country to the days of the 1950s," Sen. Dianne Feinstein
"Would you say there's a general right to privacy?" Schumer asked.
So essentialy the "right to privacy" means the right to have an abortion, the only problem is that the Constitution never mentions the right to have an abortion, and never mentions the right to privacy...liberal judicial activists made that interpretation not the authors , this is yet another example of the left hoping if they say something enough it becomes fact. Overturning Roe v Wade will not outlaw abortion as its defender's scare tactics so claim, it will however give back the enforcement or non-enforcement for that matter back to the States, which The Constitution does clearly define as to what and what not the Federal and State government is entitled to legislate and enforce. As I stated at the beginning Im not here to argue the act of abortion, which in my opinion is not only not my business (unless I am an interested party) but neither is it the governments...but it certainly is not a Constititutional right, and it is certainly neither a qualifier nor a disqualifier for Supreme Court Justices.

They created a monster

So, It has happened the way Pat Buchanan predicted it. Cindy Sheehan, the monster created by the left has turned on her masters. She is now challenging Hillary Clinton. Here is what she had to say, and some reaction from the left:

Anti-war protestor Cindy Sheehan has been giving speeches in various cities - this weekend in Brooklyn she blasted Senator Hillary Clinton for not opposing the war with more vehemence. Sheehan warned Mrs. Clinton that either she renounce the war, or "you're losing your job." Democrat consultant Mary Anne Marsh, who championed Cindy Sheehan this summer, admitted that Sheehan has gotten off track. "I think she's getting bad advice and is exercising bad judgment. I'm very sympathetic to her loss of her son, but what was once a protest against the war is rapidly becoming show biz and a spectacle. She's just trying to get attention."

Notice how all of a sudden, the left is now saying what the right has been saying all along? This woman is "becoming a show biz spectacle." "Just trying to get attention."
One more point. When Cindy Sheehan was only challenging the president, it was front page news every day in every paper. Has anyone seen this challenge of Hillary on the front page of any papers anywhere? I haven't, I'm curious to know if anyone has seen any stories anywhere on this besides Fox news?

Liar Liar Blue Gap Dress On Fire

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman"
One would think that after being only the second US President ever impeached Bubba would have learned his lesson about lying, " Guess not. Truthfulness and accountability seem to get lost on the campaign trail, and make no bones about it hill(ary)billy clinton are not only running for the NY Senate but the Presidency as well, they get to attack Bush without hill being accountable or billy being truthful. She becomes a centrist at the same time using puppet billy as her mouthpiece for her true radical left wing socialist agenda, but dont they realize that his record cant be shredded like the whitewater files. bubba broke with historic traditition and general etiquette by attacking President Bush's handling of Iraq, War on Terror, and Katrina......
...yet he ordered military force for the same reason...
On December 19, 1998 billy said in
his address to the nation: Earlier today, I ordered America's armed forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq. They are joined by British forces. Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors. (only to end the operation 3 days later to accommodate Ramadan)
...he refused the Sudanese governments offer to assist in the capture of bin laden
...he sided with the muslim terrorist group the KLA by authorizing the bombing of Kosovo (to distract from his sex scandal)
...he sat idly as thousands died in the one of the worst natural disaster to hit the mid west...an unprecedented heat wave
Hey bubba you ever hear the old saying that those that live in glass houses....
Hey Dubya ever hear the expression biting the hand that
feeds you...well bubba is chomping at your wrist at this point so cut this guy loose already and give him the public chastising that he deserves

15:01..Times Up Cindy!

CINDY SHEEHAN CALLS FOR U.S TO 'PULL OUR TROOPS OUT OF OCCUPIED NEW ORLEANS'... developing

Its a crying shame when one woman's whoring thirst for fame and notoriety sullies the good name of one our country's fallen
heroes. I know you are sad about Katrina....sad that it pushed you off the front pages but Im sure you can come up with some more gobbledegook garbage to get back in the press. And good luck on your speaking tour and book. Im sure you will use discretion so that it doesnt appear that youre profiting from your heroic sons death. Shame on you Cindy, its time for you to go away now.

Just an idea..

Rather than spending 200 billion taxpayer dollars to rebuild New Orleans, how about we give private industry a 5 year federal tax amnesty in the region? If they are willing to build, rebuild, or expand in the area, they only pay local taxes for whatever period of time seems reasonable. I haven't seen this idea thrown out there anywhere, but I think it would work. They could lease or buy the land from the city, a portion could be designated for residential, the rest for industry. Wouldn't walmart expand there? Couldn't GM use the tax breaks? And both of these businesses would create jobs. I know it wouldn't be that simple, but some version of this seems more reasonable than what the president is proposing right now, which is big government, new deal, type tax and spend programs.

Get Up, Stand Up

Two great articles on how Liberalism is not only trying to destroy this country but succeeding.

Patrick J Buchanan
writes: "The real disaster of Katrina was that society broke down. An entire community could not cope. Liberalism, the idea that good intentions and government programs can build a Great Society, was exposed as fraud"

Joseph Farah
writes: "The political debate in America between conservatives and liberals usually leaves conservatives thinking they won, but liberals actually moving the country in their direction. "

I doubt Mr Marley ever intended for his song to be a Conservative call to arms to retake America, but Im using it anyways and gonna paraphrase.
Bob Marley sang "Most people think great Government will come from the sky Give you ev'rything, and make ev'rybody feel high But if you know what life is worth You would look for yours on earth And now you see the light You stand up for your right, yeah!"

The Obituary of Mr.Common Sense

AMEN.Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Mr. Common Sense. Mr. Sense had been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such value lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn't always fair. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge). His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. - Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Mr. Sense declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student but, could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense finally gave up the fight after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, then she spilled a bit in her lap, and was awarded a huge financial settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights and Ima Whiner. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on; if not, join the majority and do nothing.

This obituary is from - The Pajama Press Blog

I apologize for making this appear as my post but I did not actually have the source and neither does this site...however I am not a writer for the NY Times and will not take credit for someone elses' writing! Once again I apolgize for the misunderstanding.

What The Duck?

In my chosen profession in the financial industry I am required to take a continuing education exam every two years to ensure that I am knowledgeable with the rules and laws in my field. This enables me to serve my clientele to the best of my ability and to protect the consumer from half-witted nit-wits (1/4 nits?). Wouldnt it make sense if we required our politicians and judges to do the same? For it has become clear to me that the majority of these maniacs have ZERO grasp on the history of this country. Example being...a jimmy carter appointee in the peoples republic of california rules that The Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional. This is crazy! This is insane? I dont get it...if youre an atheist and you dont believe in God...then the word in and of itself is meaningless to you, so how can you get offended by something you do not believe exists? Whats next...duck liver?

Going hungry at Gitmo

Apparently some of the terrorists being held at Guantanamo Bay Cuba are on a hunger strike. They say they'll starve themselves to death if they don't get what they want, and i say, so? The only questions i have is why do we care, and why are we force feeding these people? They don't want to eat! They are concious, they are adults, they don't want to eat. Let them die is what i say. If it was good enough for Terry Shaivo, it's good enough for these scumbags.

Bias Crimes

I know we don't need any more laws burdening our legal system but shouldn't the media be held accountable when their stories are so laden with their own political leanings...For instance columnist Jon Healy from the LA Times was set to appear on CBS Public Eye discussing his editorial view of the poor response to Katrina and an hour before the show went on the air, one of the producers asked him if he could sound more angry...Now I don't know about you but when this happens doesn't the show stop being a news show and start being reality TV? I just received a copy of Newsweek in the mail yesterday (my wife's subscription!) and there wasn't one positive piece of news about any of the people who are going down to help with Katrina...only pieces about how much the government let the people down in the wake of the storm. They wanted to point out how Americans are shocked that there is still poverty in the United States?!? All this shows me is how out of touch the media is...meaning it seems that they are the ones who are shocked that there is still poverty in America. It goes back to what everyone's Mom used to tell them..."If you can't say something positive, then don't say anything at all".

On a side note: If you hadn't planned on boycotting the NBA yet, perhaps you should reconsider. Where are the leagues values? There advertising alone should make you hate the game we all could love. But after all the brawls and negativity associated with professional basketball, they are supposedly trying to become more fan friendly which would be a good place to start. Instead they have a charity basketball event (which is a good thing) and at it Kayne West (sp.?) sings during a halftime show (a very bad thing) and you have to listen to political rhetoric from basketball players (an even worse thing) whose hardest classes in college was pottery & basket weaving?!? I am sorry but it is hard enough to listen to actors and politicians but I don't want to hear what basketball players think about federal policies when they couldn't even tell you who is the senator of the state that they live in...Charles Barkley said (paraphrasing), "this was a horrible thing especially since it affected black people"...First of all it didn't only affect black people and secondly why does it matter who it affected...Apparently we are all human beings unless you are caucasian. I think it's crazy that when a trailer park gets hit by a tornado and there is ample warning, the people are white trash but in the case of this hurricane...oh, it's not the same. Good luck to a league whose ticket prices keep going up, the talent keeps going down, the league keeps moving further and further away from the people who fill the seats and closer to the people who wear the jerseys.

Nagin For Mayor.....Of Dallas

If Tip O'Neill was right when he said "All politics are local", it looks like New Orleans picked a real winner in Ray Nagin. What better way to show your solidarity with your suffering constituents than to up and move your family to another state. When the going gets tough...the tough get going...to Dallas!

Bush Strikes Again!

If the media thought W's ability to control the weather to hold the black man down was impressive, they were certainly shocked to learn he has also harnessed the power of electricity to strike down at the heart of the mexican community. Now only the dreaded midgets stand in his way. Muahahaha Muahahaha!!!

Black people are inferior

That must be the answer to the question of why do black people need the government to take care of them. Do they need the government? I didn't say that, Jesse Jackson says it every time he blames the government for all the problems of "his" people. The government is racist, we all know this right? Especially Bush, and those dastardly republicans, they don't care about black people. So why are they waiting for the federal government to evacuate them from a disaster? Surely the black mayor knows it was up to him, he's black, he knows the federal government is racist, why didn't he take care of "his" people? Oh yeah, that's right, he's black, he's inferior. It seems there's no hope for black America. What can we do? Well, I don't know, and I'm not black so even if i did have some ideas, i'm not allowed to say anything because if i do i'm a bigot, or a racist. Maybe i can just suggest some ideas i heard from black people. Larry Elder is black, right? That should keep me safe from Al Sharpton. By the way, according to the people who know best, the federal response was as fast as it could have been, and even faster than other tragedies during the tenure of the " first black president"

LIBERALS: HAVE YOU NO SHAME!?!

The FEDERAL response to hurricane Katrina will go down as in history as, :...the most monumental and successful disaster relief operation in world history." Let's see...who should we look to as the expert in this ongoing argument? a National Guardsman or another liberal scumbag pseudo-journalist? Think about this...if the hurricane happened exactly like it did, with the same Federal response, but the administration was democrat, the libbies would be praising the President, and you wouldn't hear a peep from hollywood. Just yet another discusting example of the left twisting misfortune for political gain. F@#k 'em all.

Howard Roark Where Are You?

Have all the architects gone insane? If you havent read Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead, you should. Did all these guys graduate from P.C.U?, and Im not talking about Jeremy Piven's alma mater. This goes beyond being politcially correct, this is a direct slap in the face of the victims they are intending to memorialize. These are not architectural coincidences. These are yet another example of socialist globalists blaming America. They hate America and they want it destroyed, and having a damn fine go at it. Im no architect, but I think the formula for memorials is rather simple, honor the fallen, thats it. Would it be fitting if the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall had the names of the vietcong inscribed as well? Exactly. Leave your politics and agendas at the door. They can not win in elections, so they do it with lawyers, reporters, etc...and yes architects. It's time to take back our country. Its time to take back our memorials and honor our fallen in the manner and respect they deserve.

September 11, 2001

This is not a day for politics. This is a Day for Remembrance.

9/11 in New York

When you hear the words September eleventh, what do you think of? You see the numbers 9/11, what do you think of? Well of course, we think of the terrorist attacks. I for one will never forget, and never be able to not think that way for the rest of my life. So it would figure, that the newspapers would have some kind of commemorative on the front page, some kind of story about the victims, or the brave firefighters, or the families, or the way it has changed our lives forever. Well, not the N.Y. Slimes! No, no front page story, in fact no story at all in the whole first section! Oh, they did have some stories, the first one was in the Metro Section, no, no editorials, no memorials, just a story about how the terrorist attacks changed our plans that day.
Another, smaller story also in the metro section was about a rally to protest the proposed "International Freedom Center" on the World Trade Center site. All of this is disgusting, but expected from the Slimes. Unfortunately the dissrespect didn't stop there. I wouldn't be so upset if it weren't for the NY Slimes Magazine, these traitors, on the anniversary of the worst terrorist attacks in the history of our country put a portrait of bin laden on the cover of the magazine and the headline is... get ready... "Is He Winning?" I know it's the slimes, but this is over the top! What follows is of course criticism of the U.S. led war in Iraq, and even more disgusting a story that is practically a tribute to bin laden by a woman named Mary Anne Weaver. Sickening.
Never forget my friends, God Bless America.

Bergers and Lies

Am I taking crazy pills? Is anyone else out there outraged by this? I know it's old news, but Sandy Berger is back in the news. A federal judge increased his fine from 10k to 50k. Wow, now that's what i call tough! He stole classified documents, destroyed them, lied about it, never told us what was on those documents, and his penalty after being caught on video tape stuffing these documents in his pants is 50k and 3 years of access denied! This was the 9-11 investigation, the worst attack on America since Pearl Harbor! We needed to find out what happened so we could prevent it from happening again! Sure he was covering his ass, but who else was he protecting? We will never know for sure, and of course the 9-11 commission report is all bulls**t anyway, just a bunch of politicians covering for each other. Disgusting.

Wrong Correct

Refugees

A friend called me today, he feels that using the word refugee when referring to American citizens is racist. He pointed out that it has never been used to describe American citizens inside the U.S. before. I will have to take his word for it, I haven't been able to find any other instances where it's been used, but I also can't find any disaster where this many people have been displaced. I disagree with him for a couple of reasons. First of all, refugee is a term that has been used to describe many people, all over the world, regardless of race, and secondly, these people are seeking refuge!

ref·uge ( P ) Pronunciation Key (rfyj)n.
Protection or shelter, as from danger or hardship.
A place providing protection or shelter.
A source of help, relief, or comfort in times of trouble. See Synonyms at shelter

Please tell me how this is racist. These people are seeking protection, help, relief, comfort, in times of trouble. They are refugees.

I knew it was coming....

I just didn't know exactly when. Howard Dean says skin color, age, and economics has played a part in who survived Katrina. You know what, i think he's right. First of all, in any kind of tragedy like this, the very old, and the very young will suffer the most. That's just common sense. The other parts are true too, but not in the way he meant them. Lets examine the situation. People say if this was a rich white community, we wouldn't be seeing the same casualties, I agree, because the rich white people would have left, the same could be said if it was a wealthy black community. I wonder how many wealthy black people perished in this hurricane? I didn't see any on t.v. Skin color played a part too! It is no secret that the black community is poorer, and more dependent on the government to take care of them, and that's how some in the government want it! Last time I checked, it was Howard Dean and his party who want to keep giving these people a fish......... feed a man for a day, and he'll vote for you again when you feed him the next day. You do the math!

Natural Disaster?

The disaster in New Orleans is not natural it is man-made. The man-made disaster is the welfare state. When facing adversity I like to believe that Americans rise(I don't mean flood waters) to the occasion and solve their own problems, we don't wait for the Government to take care of us. The problem is that 75% of the residents of New Orleans had already evacuated before the hurricane. CNN and Fox indicated that of the 300,000 or so who remained, a large number were from the city's public housing projects and that the city had no plan for evacuating all of the prisoners in the city's jails--so they just let many of them loose. Is there an overlap between these two populations? As Robert Tracinski writes, "The innocent people trapped in New Orleans were trapped alongside large numbers of people from two groups: criminals--and wards of the welfare state, people selected, over decades, for their lack of initiative and self-induced helplessness. The welfare wards were a mass of sheep--on whom the incompetent administration of New Orleans unleashed a pack of wolves." Katrina exposed the psychological consequences of the welfare state. People with values respond to a disaster by doing whatever it takes to overcome the difficulties they face. They don't wait for the government to take care of them. They don't prey on their fellow men. Criminals and welfare parasites have made a way of life by living off of stolen wealth. "The welfare state--and the brutish, uncivilized mentality it sustains and encourages--is the man-made disaster that explains the moral ugliness evident in New Orleans." But what is to be expected from a culture that values Jambalaya over jesus and Gumbo over god!

Sing In Rain Not Report In It

The media sure is having one heck of a good time Playing The Blame Game with Katrina. It almost makes me wanna join the fun, but I wont (not yet). I will however ask you to ponder this little nugget.

Journalistic Responsibility, thats right I said it.
Some say it is dead, I for one agree. Let me pose a hypothetical question to you. Lets suppose you are in the "danger zone" of an oncoming natural disaster...for this case lets call it a hurricane, and your local authorities have warned you that not evacuating the above said "danger zone" would most likely result in abandonment , serious bodily harm, and worst case death. Would probaly make you think about leaving right? Well now lets say you turn on the news to get the weather forecast and to gauge the seriousness of the matter at hand, so that you can plan your course of action accordingly. You see this.

A bunch of frickin Patagonia parka wearing pansies!
(this isnt a John Kerry dig...sorry couldnt resist)
Now you may say to yourself "Wow it looks really bad out there and I better high tail it outta here" or you might say "If these sally girl meteoroligistic menwannabees can brave it so can I". The decision is yours and the consequences of your choice are yours and yours alone to live or die with. Harsh words, but true. Personal responsiblity has to be accounted for as well.
That brings me my original question about Journalistic Responsibilty, seems to me there was none. I saw alot of brightly colored weatherjackasses in the rain playing with their toys of hi-tech digital wind gauges, precipitation gizmos, double breasted umbrellas, titanium tide predictors, and other 007 gadgetry. They almost made it look fun. The few and far between warnings for evacuation and reporting of imminent danger by the main stream media seemed down right silly when they kept cutting to a live feed of Geraldo et al frolicking in a puddle in their galoshes. "Do as I say, not as I do" journalism isnt exactly responsible in my book.

Unbelievable

I know it's true, I know it is, but how could it be? According to the NY Slimes, the New Orleans police, who basically did nothing at all during the hurricane/rescue/looting spree, are going on a paid vacation!!!!! I wonder if these cops are on their way to Sin City?

Halliburton Strikes Again

There has been alot of blame put on Pres Bush for his response to the catastrophe of Katrina. Some have said it because he doesnt care about "black people", some have said it is because he has no regard for "the poor". I think these people are underestimating the diabolicalness of the terrible triad of Bush/Cheney/Halliburton. It's the oil stupid. The Bush Cheney Halliburton Consortium have long planned for this occasion, but it took the Perfect Storm for their sinister scheme to be achieved. The destruction of New Orleans and the The Port of Louisiana. Now Houston , Texas will be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the oil industry and noone will be able to stop them EVER. Muahahaha muahahaha.

Prime Time

I cant believe Im actually saying something positive about Deion Sanders, who as I player I despised. You read and hear so many negative things about spoiled and pampered professional athletes, its refreshing for a change to see them step up to the plate and give back. Lets hope they reach and surpass their goal. This will be the one time I will not begrudge him an endzone dance. Kudos Neon Deion Kudos.

"As citizens of this country, we need to unite to help our brothers and sisters in their time of need. We must all stretch the boundaries of the giving as far as we are able to, knowing we will enrich the lives of others." Deion Sanders

Thank you and Keep Up The Good Work

On the Labor Day Approaching Lets All Be Americans Together

This weekend let's try not to be Republican or Democrats...We have seen devastation over the past months that many of the younger bunch in our group has never seen in their lifetime. Before we criticize the machine at work in this country, look in the mirror. Ask yourself what you are doing to make things better. Laugh a little at the things you can't control and pity those who also have things out of their reach. We see & hear too many people putting down America nowadays that it is easy to fall into a cynical trap be it either for or against the way our world seems to spin. Look at the flag on Monday and with sincerity say, "God bless America"...I leave you with a quote from Nelson Muntz the neighborhood bully of the Simpsons who so astutely conveyed his thoughts in an essay "Patriots of Tomorrow"

"So burn the flag if you must, but before you do, you better burn a few other things! You better burn your shirt and your pants! Be sure to burn your TV & car! Oh yes, and don't forget to burn your house because none of those things could exist without six white stripes, seven red stripes, and a hell of a lot of stars!"

Is this America?

I am shocked! I can't believe how poorly this disaster has been handled. Yesterday, as I was driving home from work i was listening to the Sean Hannity show on the radio. He did a live interview with Shepard Smith of the Fox news channel. The picture painted by Smith was, if you can believe it, worse than what we're seeing on t.v. He was telling about little children who were close to death, or dead already for a lack of water, food, shelter!! It had been 4 days since these people had clean water!! Children with nothing to eat! Dead bodies on the side of the road! He spoke of bands of street gangs and looters and people operating in an every man for himself mentality. It is like a third world country! The worst part however as far as i'm concerned was the fact that where he was, was on a major highway, HE DROVE IN! Why are people dying when we can drive in??? These people were let down by everyone, it's disgusting. How can this happen in the United States of America? By the way, how prescient does Peggy Noonan look now? She thought it might be a terror attack, but Katrina will do to show us how important it is to keep these military bases open.

The Nation Unites?

THE NATION UNITES AFTER A DISASTER!

If Clinton had taken...

The advice of one of his most trusted advisors, George Stephanopoulos (tough one), we wouldn't be in Iraq right now. The advice was to assasinate Saddam! Now i know it's against the law to do such a thing, we heard all about it from every media outlet just a week ago when Pat Robertson infamously called for the assasination of Hugo Chavez. We also heard how immoral it was, and how crazy Robertson is etc. etc. I still agree with Robertson, and i don't think he's a bad man at all. I think it made sense. The question i have is, where was the outrage when Stephanopoulos made his statement? It's not like noone knew he said it, he wrote it in a Newsweek editorial! What's worse, is that he was not a private citizen, but a Presidential advisor!!! A liberal media bias?? NO No way, couldn't be......... could it?
