I don't want to overshadow....

my previous post, which is, in my humble opinion, a very well written, and important post. But i just read "The Sports Guy" on ESPN, and he makes some great points about Football, and Baseball, and why Football is the greatest sport in the world. Check it out, i look forward to the debate. And don't forget to read my previous post, which is again, in my humble opinion, one of the most important posts ever written on this blog.

We are a nation of settlers....

In previous posts, we have covered the border issue from many different angles. It has generated a lot of comments. I have always felt that the problem with the border was multi-faceted. I will tell you that one of the biggest problems in my opinion, is the ignorance of our history. Most people believe we are a country of immigrants, that is just not so. We are a nation of settlers. In his book "Who Are We" Samuel Huntington crystalizes this point. I encourage everyone to read it. The general theme is this. The U.S. is not “a nation of immigrants.” It is a nation that was founded by settlers—who are very different from immigrants in that they establish a new polity rather than arrive in an existing one—and that has been occupied since by the descendants of those settlers and of immigrants who came later but who assimilated into the American nation. Americans therefore are under no moral obligation to accept anyone who wishes to immigrate on the spurious grounds that everyone is essentially an immigrant. Americans own America, so to speak, and may admit or refuse entry to outsiders on whatever grounds they think fit.

Impeach Bush!

In a recent post, i suggested the road to the white house will go through the border, that is becoming more evident every day. Joseph Farah, of World Net Daily is the latest to comment on the obvious. Pat Buchanan was the first to suggest impeachment over the issue. The president is letting us down on the southern border, he is reckless in his lack of enforcement, and the next president will be the person who comes out strongest on national security, and by that i mean enforcing the border laws. In Farah's column, he suggests Bush is part of some kind of global conspiracy for a one world government. I don't see that, in fact i think that's some kind of paranoia. I think it's all about political correctness, and multiculturalism. The president and his party are worried about offending the largest minority, and want to court their votes. They are making a huge mistake. La Shawn Barber makes some interesting points here, about the health care issues, and the fact that local governments are forced to deal with the problems that the federal government won't! I won't go so far as to endorse impeachment, but i will tell you this, i would consider crossing party lines in the next election over this issue, it is that important.

Third Times A Charm?

Only thing worse than a liberal greenie is an ungrateful german liberal greenie. Do we have to whoop up on those fun loving bratwurst breath benz driving bavarians again? Youd think after defeating them handily in I and II, they'd know their place. Or maybe the fact that our military has kept their native language from being Russian for the past 50 years. Guess not. At this point Im surprised that the Ice Age or the extinction of the Dynomitesaurs hasnt been blamed on us. Facts havent gotten in the enviro's way so far...why stop now...damn tree huggers!

Looters = Animals

UPDATE: Looters shooting at Rescuers...story to follow

What can I say these are bad people. I completely understand doing what ya gotta do to survive and the need for necessities in a time like this, such as food, clothing, medication, BEER (Hooray beer!), etc...but jewelry? I gotta believe the energy spent looting gold chains would be better spent helping the eldery or disabled getting much needed supplies instead of macking your bling bling.

The South Shall Rise Again

Lets all do whatever we can to help our Southern Brothers and Sisters get back on their feet in the wake of the recent Hurricane Katrina Disaster. Give blood. Give money. Give something. Do something.

Red Cross

Salvation Army

Feed The Children

Catholic Charities

The United Methodist Committee on Relief

Stingy U.S.

Does everyone remember the U.N. official who said the U.S. was stingy because we didn't give enough to the tsunami relief effort on the first day? Well the latest estimates I heard for the Katrina cleanup is 25 billion dollars. I wonder how much the rest of the world will offer? My guess is, the rest of the world will offer roughly in the neighborhood of $0.00!

Run Sharpton Run

Never a good sign when Al "I never met a camera/i mean cause I didnt like" Sharpton runs from free publicity. This is the same guy who has aligned himself with Tawana Brawley, Michael Jackson, and PETA in the past yet runs (at speeds reaching 110 mph) from Cindy Sheeehan. 'Nuff Said!

Why can't they learn......

That's what i'm wondering? It seems that the peacenicks can never learn from the mistakes of the past. In this piece, Cal Thomas makes some very good points. For example, vietnam was a disaster, not a military defeat, but a moral disaster that cost the lives of millions of innocent civilians. Do we want that again? What about Lebanon? Our marines died, and we left! What about Somalia? Again we left! It emboldened the enemy each time, and each time we paid a price. These people don't want peace, they want world domination. Martin Sheen, Joan Baez, Jane Fonda, they should know better by now, shouldn't they? Bin Laden has stated that he doesn't think America has the stomach for a long hard war, I wonder why he thinks that?

Put Up That Wall

As usual Pat Buchanan offers insightful commentary on the Illegal Alien Invasion Crisis facing The Unites States of America today. If you havent read any of Pat's books...go out and buy one now.

I know i sound like a broken record.....

but the agenda driven main stream media is making me crazy. I was checking out another blog this morning, sweetness and light, and they showed some interesting pictures of the cindy sheehan protest. It shows nobody, as in nobody is at the protest with her except the media. Now it could be that all of the other protesters were in the bathroom, or maybe they wanted to give cindy some alone time, but it sure looks like she's just hanging out alone with the media.
And of course, Al "slim shady sharpton"

Scoop for Scoop Jackson

Not every thing is black and white. I know you take great pride in being the controversial "black" sports journalist on espn.com, but I think youd be better off playing the baseball card instead of the race card on this one. Maybe Im misreading your sarcasm or maybe I just feel igniting further racial tensions isnt the place for your caustic wit. This Milton Bradley game isnt suitable for all ages. Hes a big baby that wants to be coddled or else hes gonna cry. This is a guy that has zero respect for the law, his managers, and the people that pay his multi million dollar salary...the fans. Excusing his behavior because "black" athletes have been treat sooo unfairly is bunk and you know it. The guy didnt run down an easy pop fly and his teamate got on him for it. Listen, as a Mets fan I know Jeff Kent the player and his reputation, and maybe, just maybe he's just a jackass...not a white racist redneck jackass, just a jackass...and maybe, just maybe so is Milton.

Live From Beautiful Downtown Baghdad

Straight outta Baghdad crazy mother f'er named Mike Yon. This guy is giving the straight dope on the situation in Iraq. Throw him a few bucks if you can.

Peanuts & Cracka-Jacks: Beisbol En Fuego

The new controversy in the PC baseball community revolves around being critical of Caribean/Latin ball players. I mentioned in an early post how Bob Feller was attacked on an ESPN radio interview for questioning their understanding of the game's rules. While I was outraged that the interviewer attacked Feller (a 90 year old man) for his views, I don't agree with Feller. My opinion is that most players black, white, or other don't know the rules...Two years ago I saw Jay Payton run across the diamond to get back to first base when he ran on a ball that was caught on the fly...He didn't know that you have to go back and touch the bases that you have passed. Fundamentals in the game are generally overlooked by fans who only care how many rbi's and dingers a player can hit...but the true fans appreciate a guy who knows how to hit the ball to the right side of the field to get a guy in scoring position with no outs...Mets fans still love a guy like Edgardo Alfonzo because he always put the ball in play, knew how many outs there were, etc...And he is from Venezuela so go figure.

The Astros players should be ashamed of themselves. Recently I complained how Pedro wasn't getting any run support (and he still isn't, last night they scored two runs for him but luckily he only gave up one). But what is going on in Houston is even nastier. The 'Stros have been shut out in eight of Clemens starts and in those games his Era is under 1.0 which is awesome. Now I actually hate Clemens and love nothing more then to see this happening to him. In fact when he was on the Yanks, I took great joy in watching him fly his red neck family from city to city in an attempt to garnish his 300th win...Of course he got it eventually (after about five trys) because the Yanks are in no way comparable to the anemic Houston offense. Honestly, you look at the Houston rotation and you wonder how can they ever lose with their big three Clemens, Petite, & Oswalt but they are possibly the most painful team to watch hit...and in that little band box that they play in, they should be scoring tons of runs. This is a stadium that before the scandal was called Enron Field - A.K.A. "Ten Run Field" so there is no excuses for them if they miss the playoffs other than they simply cannot hit with the team that they put on the field. Don't tell me Bagwell is hurt, Biggio is getting older. I don't care. Every team goes through these things and the good ones find a way to win.

On a final note, it has been fascinating to see that we have some real candidates for the Triple Crown. This is the real achievement in baseball for an individual player...To me it is more impressive then no hitters, wins, or simply just leading the league in home runs. Those things to me are usually accomplished by one dimensional players and are impressive but so short lived and soon forgotten. The most interesting part to me is the real contenders for the award Pujols & Lee are just the opposite. They are not only good hitters but also play solid in the field (Lee might be the best fielding first baseman in the NL since Keith Hernandez The Mighty Mexican), undeniably the leader of their respective teams, and are all around good guys. Respectively, they are both in totally different situations however... as Lee plays for the dreadful Cubs who even without the decimating injuries wouldn't have had much of a chance in the Central. And Pujols is on the best all around team in baseball. It is for this reason that I would love to see Derek Lee take it home for Chicago. Their fans are the most loyal in baseball and they have had to endure just one let down after another...but either way it has been a long time since there has been a triple crown winner and it would be nice to see it happen now (sadly, for some reason the home run race with Mark Androstein & Sammy So So guilty of steroid usage garnered more attention then a triple crown race!?!)...and it couldn't happen to any nicer guys. Bring it home boys!

Al Comes A Running (For Free Air Time)

I guess noone told "The Rev" that the cameras were rolling, or maybe hes losing a step as he gets older and needs to go back to rocking the Adidas tracksuits. I am absolutely befuddled that we still havent heard from Big Al on the Air America/Gloria Wise scandal. Isnt his National Action Network based in Harlem?. Didnt he at one point want to be Mayor of New York City? Yet given the chance to avenge the wrongs done to an inner city youth program in the Bronx or get some free face time with the lunatics at Camp Cindy, he once again doesnt surprise us, I'm just surprised it took him so long.

A Boy Named Sue

Thats it Ive had enough. If you cant beat them sue them. Ive contacted my attorney and am starting litigation immediately. I am suing Gravity Inc. and The Human Genome Corp. for the fact that Im not 6'11'" tall, which as a result has prevented me from earning an estimated $83 million in salary as a professional basketball player, and an estimated $115 million in endorsments from "tough actin" Tinactin, Just For Men Hair Dye, and The Old Milwaukee Brewing Co. The pricetag for my emotional suffering for not being able to bring an NBA championship to The New York Knicks you cant put a number on, but i will and it'll cost ya $572 million. That puts the grand total at $3.14159265 billion. I will be willing to settle for a slice of apple pie (a la mode).

I'm so angry

This is the kind of thing that we see in the main stream media every day, and it almost never gets exposed. I'm sure we all saw the "new study" on fetuses not feeling pain until the last tri-mester of pregnancy. It was reported very prominently on World News Tonight, and on every other network news show. It was in every major newpaper including the NY Times, LA Times, Washington Post, etc. The story in the Chicago Tribune is typical of the way the story is reported. First of all, the "study" came about because of a new initiative to inform women who want to have late term abortions about fetal pain. The "doctors" who did the study didn't actually do any lab work, they just did a "study" on other work that's already out there. In other words, if 5 out of 10 doctors agree with you, use those 5, and forget the others. Another little trick of the media that we don't normally pick up on is the identity game. In this aricle they tell you that Douglas Johnson is legislative director for the National Right to Life Committee, and say he "attacks" the study. They mention DR. Eleanor Drey as one of the authors of the study, but don't mention that she runs an abortion clinic in San Francisco that does over 600 late term abortions every year! They also fail to mention that the main author of the study is a student and former employee of NARAL! They also mention " several doctors agree" but don't name these doctors. These people have an agenda. No matter where you fall on the abortion issue, this kind of "reporting" should make you angry. More importantly, if a child is born premature, and needs some kind of surgery they use anaesthesia!!! Why do they do that??? What is the difference?? I'll answer that for you, there is no difference. These people have an abortion agenda, it's big $, and the media is a willing partner.

Tear Down That Wall

Able Danger Update...

What the hell is there to
"actively discuss" It's a simple solution...tear down "the wall" between law enforcement agencies so that it doesnt happen again, and imprison those responsible for the coverup.

George Steinbrenner

wants to know the name of this guy, apparently they need some starting pitching. But on a serious note, if they're attacking our police/border patrol, can't we shoot them?

Have These Women All Gone Insane?

This may very well be the most sickening and disturbing thing I have read in quite some time. These honorable men and women were wounded defending our freedom, unfortunately these women are using their freedom to be jackasses. Rosie the Riveter is rolling over in her grave.

50 Billion dollars.....

That's what we can save over the next 20 years by closing a bunch of military bases here in the U.S. but as Peggy Noonan says here what if we need them some day? I remember when the wall came down, and the peace lobby was saying we don't really need a military anymore, at least not one as big as we had at the time. Well we could use more troops to stabilize Iraq, and i wouldn't mind putting some boots on the ground in Iran either, but our military isn't big enough. We didn't foresee any of this trouble. On a side note, all of the branches of the service have far exceeded their reenlistment goals for the year. In other words, despite what we hear every day from the mainstream media, the soldiers in Iraq, and Afghanistan must think they're doing something noble, and worthwhile. I for one appreciate all of them.

So Cosmo Says Your Fat

Well I aint down wit dat. Forget personal responsibility and just sue somebody. This is insane! Hang up the phone with your lawyer, put the twinkie down, and hit the gym you big, fat, tubby, obese crybaby!

Welcome to The Bigs kid...keep up the good work.

Oh Cindy

Quick question...If Cindy Sheehan values life soooo much...why would she leave her 74 year old stroke victim mother after only a week to get back in front of the cameras to grandstand on the value of one persons life. Life is for the living Cindy, put the microphone down, get back to California and tend to your ailing mother. You lost a son and deserve to be sad and angry, but youd be better served mourning your heroic son, Army Spc. Casey Sheehan as opposed to good Morning america'ing him.

Recently...

The argument was, will Iraq descend into civil war after the U.S. military leaves? Well, i guess noone knows for sure, but i believe that when given a choice, people will choose freedom and democracy over civil war and tyranny. It seems i'm not the only one. Apparently the sunni's are starting to see the light, lets all hope the trend continues.

Bronx To Jesse: Where Are You?

Looks like Jesse is positioning himself for a sweetheart Venezuelan oil distributorship. Notice how he's quick to chastise one mans conservative opinion to defend a tyrant, and yet still hasnt come to the aid of the inner city kids and seniors at the Gloria Wise Center that was defrauded by Air America. And why is Elliot Spitzer lollygagging on this issue, this is right up his wheelhouse..could it be that he's looking to be the democratic candidate for Gov of NY and doesnt want to jeopardize his free airtime on unf-Air America radio.

Oh yeah..al franken is a jackass

Feeding Christians to The Lions

Pat Robertson's biggest mistake was not calling for the assasination of Chavez, which he didnt do really. It's being a Conservative Christian. Hugo has been constantly crying wolf that the US is trying to kill him. All Pat said was if the guy is gonna keep crying about it maybe we should oblige him. OK, I will agree maybe thats not the nicest thing to say, but gimme a break this is the adult version of little kids getting in a fight in the sandbox. "Why dont you hit me first" "Ok maybe I will" Kennedy was lionized for invoking The Monroe Doctrine in his dealings with Cuba, but ol' Pat is just being thrown to the lions.

I have been checking......

The newspapers every day, looking for something on the ABLE DANGER story. I haven't seen anything for over a week. I have seen multiple stories on cindy sheehan, chuck hagel, hillary with mccain in Alaska, the Pataki tapes, home prices, fuel prices, Pat Robertsons very good assasination idea, and of course on the front page of Newsday (L.I. NY) we had high school sports programs in financial trouble?? What?? Is there a bigger story in the last 3 years than Able Danger? Did we know about atta being here in early 2000, or not until late 2000 as the 9/11 commission says? Is the 9/11 commission lying? Is Gorelick protecting herself or her former employers? Could 9/11 have been prevented? Is there a bigger story out there??? Please someone tell me what's bigger than this? Here's my theory, the 9/11 commission played politics, the whole report is a waste, and we haven't learned or fixed anything. They're covering for each other, and that is leaving us vulnerable! Where is the Press on this one? This is why we need a free press, to ask these questions! Why are they failing us? Of course i know why, It's because they're covering for the Clinton administration. It seems crazy to me that i have to find stories on this in Investors Business Daily!! It's a business paper! The only other place you can get info on this is talk radio. Where is the NY Slimes? Where is the "ultra conservative" Fox news? I have news for you, I don't want to attack Clinton, It wasn't his fault, I'm not blaming Bush, or even Jamie Gorelick. The terrorists that committed the attacks are to blame, and that's it, but if it gets covered up, and glossed over, and we get another attack because the 9/11 commission is covering everyone's ass, rather than make necessary changes, then there will be some blame to go around. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

Tight as Daisy Duke's Arse

I think all this political talk can be very distracting at times...It distracts us from our true purpose on this earth as men...which is to get a little something something. No doubt we all want peace on earth and good will towards mankind but what we all really, really want is a fine piece to take home at the end of the day...Peace Out!

Dogs and Cats Living Together

Mass Hysteria! It aint right I tell ya. Im gonna let Ms Noonan handle this one, she really hits the nail on the head.

I Love You Peggy

Donkey Rebuts Rhino

This doesnt even deserve a response but i will humor the little rhinette...Forgive me for thinking my money would be more wisely spent hunting down, capturing, and killing the terrorists in Iraq (and elsewhere), than sending little johnny jihad to school. I have no problem with rebuilding defeated nations (worked out ok with Japan)...but why dont we worry a little more actually defeating them first than appeasing the ungrateful infidels that would gladly walk into any of our bases strapped with TNT and murder our soldiers. If this is a War on Terror, and not nation building...then lets wage war on the terrorists first...give them laptops later. As far as my "only example" of Yugoslavia...I thank you for making my point for me, unless of course you intend for us to stay there indefinitely, or in your words the magical Iraqi constitution is in place. Then I guess then the sunnis, the shiites, and kurds will live happily ever after. The hatred they have for each other is real, deep rooted, and eternal ... and giving them air conditioning wont change that.

When a Donkey ....

Argues like a liberal, it is sad and funny at the same time. Here's what the liberals, and now the Donkeys do, they yell at you, try to make a point, and then hang up the phone, turn off the camera's , or go to commercial when the conservative makes his point. Let me give our readers (both of them) some background. The donkey seems to think it's a waste of money to rebuild the infrastructure in Iraq, he feels, in his erudite opinion that once the U.S. leaves Iraq, there will be civil war, and everything will be destroyed anyway. Where does he get this idea? He cited as his only example, Yugoslavia??????? What???? That's right, in his Jackass wisdom, he compares the pullout of the Soviet Union and the civil war that followed in Yugoslavia to what he thinks will happen in Iraq???? The de-stabalization of the former Yugoslavia was in fact the reason for the civil war, the fact that the only stable government up and left created a power void, that is exactly what we're not doing! We are staying until there is a stable government, we are staying until there is a constitution, we are training the army, and the police. It is the negative attitude of the donkeys, and the jane fondas, john kerrys, and the chuck hagels that cost us the vietnam war. Lets not repeat that mistake, because history does have a tendency to repeat itself!

Off To A Good Start

Funny how you dont hear John Bolton's name that much any longer. Seems to me before he was appointed a day didnt go by that youd hear about how he was unfit to be Ambassador to the UN because former employees said he was gruff, grumpy, and generally not nice. I dont have a federal grant to conduct a scientific poll, but I'll take a wild guess and say most "former employees" dont care that much for their "former employers". It's called human nature, and in the professional food chain of life you give me a wounded gazelle that sings the praises of the lion, and I'll give you an uneffective lion. Give 'Em Hell Johnny!

besides how can you not love a guy that looks like "I'm a big, four-eyed lame-o and I wear the same stupid sweater every day" Ned Flanders

It's all bad news....

If you read the main stream media, or watch main streamTV news, (yes even fox) the news coming out of Iraq is all bad. (I was going to create a link to some news stories there, but i really don't even think it's necessary). So it always puzzles me when i hear a soldier who comes home and talks about all of the progress we're making, or when i read a patriotic columnist who writes stories about how well things are going. I mean, i know it can't be as bad as the ny slimes says it is, but can the reconstruction really be going well? Is anything really being accomplished? Wouldn't the media have to report something other than cindy sheehan if there was something else to report? Well, the answer to the first two questions is YES, unfortunately the answer to the last question is a no. The media in this country has there own agenda. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but i can't understand how we haven't heard any good news. So i decided to check out some things for myself. I went to the U.S. Department of Defense website to see if i could get any information, and much to my surprise, i found out we're doing some great things. We're building hospitals, schools, and roads. We've built electric utilities, and erected towers to distribute it. We're buiding or rebuilding water treatment plants, and even creating literacy programs. Most of these basic infrastructure projects haven't been working for decades! So how is it that we hear more about Howard Dean saying that women were better off with Saddam in power with his rape rooms than they are now? Or we hear more about cindy sheehan calling the President of the United States a terrorist than we do about a new hospital? Like I said, I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it does make you wonder. Check out the links, I will tell you, I was very surprised to read the news, and for those of you who don't trust it, because it's the DOD website, remember that the mainstream media is reading this stuff too, and if it wasn't true they would be all over it. They know there's good news, they just don't want anyone else to know. Why do you think that is?

Say Goodbye To Honolulu

Good thing South Carolina wasnt inhabited by "Native South Carolinians" or we would have a North and South States of America today. I guess in Hawaii, not "all men are created equal". You know this PC BS has gotten out of hand when Hawaiins have gripe, I mean come on, they frickin live in paradise. If they succeed in seceding Im telling you right now this shanty town Irish American Donkey is gonna form my own government and lay claim to the lower east side of Manhattan, and Ill even take a blood alcohol test to prove it.

Where is the coverage....

Of the proud parents of fallen soldiers? This Sheehan thing is totally media driven at this point. The media has kept it alive, and made it thrive. I was listening to the Sean Hannity radio show on the way home from work on friday, (I was on the long island expressway, so i had plenty of time to listen) and I heard 4 different parents of fallen soldiers call in and say that they're outraged with this woman. Why haven't they gotten any coverage? Hannity, to his credit tried to defend Sheehans right to speak out and say whatever she wants, but he was put in his place quickly by one father who said he and his wife were offended when they heard Sheehan say she speaks for all of the families of fallen soldiers! These parents feel she is using her dead son as a prop to get attention for her personal anti-war, anti-Bush beliefs, which her son obviously didn't agree with. I think they're right. So my question is, where is the media when it comes to these parents? Could it be that these parents don't represent the main stream media's view point, and that's why they won't give them any time? Did these people not lose sons and daughters in the same war? Didn't maureen dowd, celebrated columnist for the ny slimes say "THE MORAL AUTHORITY OF PARENTS WHO BURY CHILDREN KILLED IN IRAQ IS ABSOLUTE" ? Yes, she did, so why hasn't she done any stories on these parents?

Dont Be Silly Willie

It has now become abundantly clear that the Zambrano Era is over. He doesnt deserve his spot in the rotation with Heilman pitching so well as of late. As mediocre as The Mets have been, we are still in the wild card hunt. Give the kid the ball Willie.

Air America is A Big Fat Thief

If a liberal scams, steals, or swindles from an inner city youth center, and the main stream media refuses to report on it, does that mean it didn't happen? Well, that's exactly whats happening with the Air America scandal. They take almost a million dollars in taxpayers money as "a loan", have not paid it back, and as a result the center loses the majority of its future funding for youth and eldery programs. Where's the outrage? As a New Yorker I'm pissed off, as a taxpayer I'm sickened, and as an American I'm saddened by yet another example of political ideology being put ahead of the welfare our citizens. If this were Fox News, do you think the coverage would be different? Of course.
And once again, where's Rev (sic) Jesse Jackson when his peers truly need him. Could it be because he is
vested financially in Air America's NYC broadcasting station, or because a failing radio station or a poor run down community center in the Bronx isnt quite the shakedown candidate of , say an Anheiser Busch?

All the news thats fit.....

To print? The times has become such a disgrace! The old gray lady, once the greatest newspaper in the world, has become a haven for left wing ideologues, and politically correct wacko's. It has been sad to watch them descend to these depths since "pinch" sulzberger has taken over, but I've gotten used to it, and rarely read the paper anymore. Unfortunately, they have reached new lows. In a recent editorial they attacked the sister of one of the pilots whose brother was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. This woman (Burlingame) is upset about the "Freedom Center" that is being proposed for the World Trade Center sight. Thankfully, the NY Post has come to her defense, as have the NY fire fighters, so hopefully the Times will back off. I say if the Slimes thinks a politically correct memorial museum is so important, let them put it in the new building they're putting up in midtown, the World Trade Center site is totally inappropriate.

Sheehan......

Ok, I'll say it first. This woman has some serious issues. She is allowing herself to be used as a tool for the left wing wacko's. She is disgracing herself, and the memory of her son. I don't even really feel bad for her, I think she's in it for her own ambitions, and it's sickening to me. Her whole family has asked her to cease her vigil, they have asked her to just come home. Other families of fallen hero's are speaking out against her. I have no sympathy for her, she has revealed herself to be a media whore, and isn't worthy of any sympathy or respect. I would say that her son, who RE-ENLISTED DURING THE WAR , must have believed in what he was doing. She dishonors his memory with her antics.

The Metropolitans are a Always a Team - Unfortunately in Defeat:

Pedro was spectacular again yesterday after his previous rough start. But once again, for like the sixth time this season they let him down and he received a loss (11 times they have lost when Pedro gives them a quality start). Being a man, Pedro took responsibility for the loss and credited the Dodgers with battling for the win. I know this isn’t true though. Los Angeles is a bad team. A team the Mets should beat. However, because they make bad starters look like Cy Young routinely, they lost. As a team the Mets have always been close. Even in years when they were real bad, it seemed like they got along pretty well. With a few exceptions, players did not get along, like Greg Jeffries being a primadonna, Timo Perez not taking extra BP with the team, Darryl Strawberry & Keith Hernandez in the picture day melee, George Foster labeling the organization racist, & Dave Kingman being generally ornery…but for the most part they have always been a team where the players support each other. From day one the 2005 season has followed this scenario. After the shocking collision between Beltran & Cameron, it was obvious that these Mets care about each other a great deal. So how can this team continue to let their single best player down? Besides David Wright & Cliff Floyd, I don’t see any helmets being thrown, coolers being punched, or team meetings with closed doors and loud shouting. Is Willie the problem? Where is the fire? Understandably, the Mets have gone from a bad team to a decent team and I am happy about that…but aren’t they close to being as good as the rest of the NL (besides the Cards)…If they are going to go down then I want to see them fight…I think Pedro deserves that much from his teammates.

It's Good To Be The Alaskan King Crab

...or at least to be the third ranking Republican member of the House of Representatives. I have never heard of him until now, but he must be good, real good. In the recent highway bill Donny Boy hornswoggled $941 million for Seward's Icebox , $229 mil of which will go to , you guessed it "The Don Young Bridge". Call me crazy, but a quarter billion for a "bridge to nowhere", but only 1.7 mil. for border security in Nuevo Mexico is slightly askew. I guess membership does have it's privileges.

Road to White House goes through Mexico

I have been saying it for a long time, the republicans are vulnerable on the border issues, and now the Dems are taking the initiative. Bill Richardson (D-NM) is certainly a viable candidate, and if the Republicans want to keep the executive branch, they better get moving on this issue.

Gorelick-tion of Duty

Talk about the fox guarding the hen house. How is it possible Jamie Gorelick, the woman responsible for "the Wall" ended up on the 9/11 commission instead of being subpoenaed to testify in her administrations defense. The reason I bring that up now is because of the recent uncovering of a Dept of Defense outfit known as "Able Danger" that identified four of the 9/11 hijackers as potential threats a year before the attack but were not deported because "the Wall" stopped them from sharing the info. It's wrong to Monday morning quarterback the events of that day, and the only fingers that should be pointed should be at the low life al-Qaida animals that were responsible. However, more importantly it is our elected officials (Republican and democrat) DUTY to ensure such crimes against our country never happen again. EVER We have to figure out what went wrong, what we couldve done better to prevent it, and hunt down the camel cock suckers that would still do our country harm. This is no time for a cover-up. Save that for hotel break-ins and fellating interns.

Donkey Talk

Donkeys differ somewhat from horses in conformation. The Irish American Donkey is superior to all others in size, strength, intellect and charm. The most noticeable difference is of course the ears. Donkeys ears are MUCH longer in proportion to their size than a horses. The necks are characteristically straighter in the longears, and most donkeys lack a true wither. Although donkeys are proud of their historical association with President Andrew Jackson they are now shamed by their unauthorized affiliation with the modern Democratic party. The vocal qualities are the frequently remembered differences in the long-ears. The donkeys voice is a raspy, brassy Bray, the characteristic Aw-EE, Aw-EE sound. Jacks especially seem to enjoy braying, and will "sound off" at any opportunity.

Nazi talk.....

Why is it that when a liberal can't win an argument, he (she in this case) calls the other side a nazi? If you can't win the argument you resort to name calling? Are you little dick durbin? If you can't make a point, shut up, or change your mind. It's really incredible how often this happens, I see it all the time, durbin and rangel are the two most recent with the nazi comments, but of course the Bush is a liar comments come up almost every day. Hey pnutz, to answer your question, NO i don't want a nazi blog, i don't have a problem with you posting or commenting on anything, but that works both ways. If you don't like what someone has to say, why not just rebut it, or shut up, name calling is for school children who can't make a point. Dummy!

Pnutz or No Nuts?

Lets clear the air and find out where everyone stands. What does the so called Reagan admirer think we should do in our current conflict against the terrorists in Iraq? Should we stay the course until we finish the job? Or should we just go home and do the laundry and dishes? What say you Pnutz?

Beat It!!!

I would like to take this space to sort of introduce myself & also to thank my homies for inviting me to contribute on their turf. You can call me what you will as many do. In my opinion, anyone who places too much importance on a name should & eventually will wax my crotch. As a more liberal person than my counterparts Donkeyhue & Rhinoculous, my perspective might irk some of their more ardent supporters. For this I do not apologize but instead I will take great joy in rebuking the almost Reaganite values that they somehow hold. By this I am alluding to the fact that Reagan (a great man in my opinion) for one, would have nothing to do with them as well as most of the Republican Party. The reason being is that they are convicted train robbers and general scoundrels… which is why I like them. With that being said, I welcome all to this foreign forum. It is foreign because, as the Rhino indicated, all are welcome to speak their mind with freedom. Right or Wrong. Some places in the world and even in your own community, this isn’t the case but here you can call it like you see it. So like an umpire in our great American game of baseball shouts, “Play Ball!” and like I shout, “Bite Me!”

Banana Boat Belafonte

Main Entry: rac·ism Pronunciation: 'rA-"si-z&m also -"shi-
Function: noun
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that
racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2 :
racial prejudice or discrimination

When is racism racism? Does it only exist in a Republican vacuum? Is it only white against black? Conservative against liberal? I hope I am not out line here (im a habitual line stepper), being that I am "the white devil", but isnt it about time the African-American community toss the publicity whoring race baiting n'er-do-wells such as belafonte, jackson, sharpton etc on their collective ears. I personally think in
Mr Belafonte's case it is a matter of professional envy, considering for the last six years he has attacked The Secretary of State of the United States of America Mr Powell and Condoleeza Rice respectively (arguably) the 2nd most powerful person in the world, strictly because of their skin color. Perhaps if Mr Belafonte had any professional success in the last three decades he wouldnt be so resentful of the two great american success stories that they are, differences in politics aside. Day light break and Harry you should go home.

Welcome....

To The Aurora. The original Aurora was a newspaper published in the 1790's by Benjamin Franklin Bache. He was the grandson of the great Benjamin Franklin. Coming so soon as it did after the American Revolution, most of the paper was consumed with politics, but it also dealt with economic, social, and other trivial issues.

We would like to model this blog after the original, mostly politics, but also plenty of other subjects, like sports, movies, money, etc. etc.

Please feel free to make as many comments as you wish, like it says in our banner, All the rants raves and ramblings by Rhinoceroses Donkeys and Jackasses thats not fit to print.

The Donkey and I are in, now all we need is you!

Middle-East Peace Theorem

You know, I always thought that the problems in the middle-east could be solved with a few leisure activities. The Koran prohibits alcohol and if you catch a glimpse of the tip of a woman's pinkie finger you are really psyched for days. The average guy over there is really pissed off because every other successful guy has a number of wives/concubines in his harem and theyre stuck with nothing but goats or the women that look like goats. That would make me want to go out and kill somebody too. Its not like these guys are at work or something burning off some aggression or pent up energy.. Instead of occupation troops we should be buying largescreen TVs and xboxes for every household in Iraq... nonviolent games, just fifa soccer and all those games that show bikini chicks playing volleyball. Mario Kart addiction could turn the tide for us as we waltz through empty streets. The population would side with us as they become pissed off at the insurgents that blow up power stations and wipe out the top scores on tiger woods golf.
