Stupid Scientific Study Of The Week

This has long been a pet peeve of both the Rhino and myself. Every day in the Science section of IBD they would have little tid-bits of recents scientific studies. Studies such as..

PEOPLE THAT SMILE ARE GENERALLY MORE HAPPY THAN PEOPLE THAT FROWN

Or

STARVING PEOPLE HAVE BEEN PROVEN TO HAVE A LOWER RATE OF OBESITY

I think you get my point. So Im introducing a new feature to The Aurora to expose the stupidity, the waste of taxpayers dollars, and overall arrogant attitude that the elitists have of the average man in this country. Now to todays entry.

TERRORISM GOOD CARS BAD
In 2001, as many people died every 26 days on American roads as died in the terrorist attacks of 9/11, it says. whole story

Now pay close attention to the article, nowhere is there a mention of the number of drivers, automobiles, road conditions, suicides, DWI's, and other variables. Now pay attention to the lack of information provided as far as the nationality, race, creed of the terrorists or mathetematical equations such as...

1 Terrorist = 50 innocents dead

I love the last quote.

"Policymakers need to be aware of this when allocating resources to preventing these two avoidable causes of mortality," they say.

Hmm. Avoidable. Suicidal murdering maniacs and icy hairpin turns in an old Buick Riviera. I guess they are similiar. So essentialy if the "scientists had their druthers we would have titanium seatbelts and marshmellow roads, and self combusting airplanes seats and switchblades served with our cold chicken cordon bleu. Congratulations Otaga University you are The Aurora's first inductee into the Scientific Stupidity Hall of Fame.

Quote of The Week

enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance

FIR-Getaboutit

Ok let me make this clear...

ITS A CHRISTMAS TREE
Now get over it. I dont want to hear how a tree offends people. How a tree represents State sanctioned religion, because its mularkey and everyone knows it. You wanna hear something offensive, hows this... 11 towel heads flying planes into American buildings...do you see me calling for a ban on linen. I dont want to hear about how the first Christmas Tree was not a Christian symbol but was first used in pagan ceremonies, well guess what Einstein the swastika's origins are with the fat China man, but ask a Jewish person that has studied Buddhism how he feels about it, I think I can guess what his association will be.

Its funny how Wal-Mart wont have Christmas
sales, but will however sell Christmas Trees. This is nothing more than sytematic secular scheming attempting and succeeding to destroy the moral fabric of society. They are winning because the average American isnt malicious or mean spirited and generally apathetic and easy going.

Whats that?
Theyre taking away the Ten Commandments from the courthouse?
Well it doesnt affect me.

Whats that?
They dont want my child to sing Silent Night in school choir?
Oh well theres plenty of other songs.

Whats that?
They wanna call it a Holiday Tree?
Well I guess they have a point it is a holiday afterall.

Whats the harm you ask???

Im glad you ask...I think only one outcome is possible if decent God fearing law-abiding Americans dont get off their duffs and fight these pinko commie bastards...a lawless and morally corrupt society where the will of the vocal vapid and wicked minority will rule over the just and the good. Santa is making his list and Im certain the ACLU and their ilk are on the naughty list....how bout you?

M.O.T.W. (Not That Theres Anything Wrong With It)

I Dont Like You Because Youre Dangerous

Say it aint so Mav, somewhere the Goose is rolling in his grave. This is what politics is all about and make no bones about it the shade falls on both sides of the tree. The DEMS will use this to great effect to portray the GOP's as big business corporate whores, and they will be right. However I want you to pay close attention to the reform that comes out of this, very close attention. If there is any at all it will be like the fluff you put on your peanut butter sandwich, and the reason is that both parties benefit from the graft that their political clout affords them whether its Cunningham in a Rolls, Kennedy being flown out west for a ski trip on Patagonia Inc's dime, Hillary stealing the furniture from the Blanco Casa, Pataki flying first class on taxpayers dinero to the islands, Freddy Ferrer running up debt to be paid by taxpayers for his failed mayoral run, Newt's sweetheart book deal from Newscorp while still Speaker, the list goes on and on and that is why there will be no change. Youre telling me we have politicians that have force fed an unnecessarily beefed up Patriot Act on the citizens of this country enabling Big Bro to monitor our emails, phone calls, personal banking records etc etcetera and they have no way to tell if a local congressman is cashing million dollar checks and driving around in a RR Phantom costing five times his annual salary. The system is broke and the repairman doesnt get paid if it aint, so why would they do anything about it. They are all crooks, crackpots and charlatans and once again I call for the need for the people to revolt and throw every last fucking one of them on their ears and start over. The revolution will be televised, but only during sweeps week. Thats right Ice...Man. I am donkeyrous. EE-Aw!!

(please limit your Kenny Loggins references in the comment section im still in shock over the recent RnR HoF scandal)

Lieberman Gets It

Maybe it's because he's a religious man, and so his principles are more important to him than politics, maybe it's politics and he's trying to move more to the right to put himself in position for a presidential run. I want to believe it's the former not the latter. Either way, this man gets it. Lieberman was in Iraq last week, and he reports today in the Wall Street Journal that real progress is being made, that things are actually going very well, and that we need to stay the course and not give up on these people. This isn't a story you will hear from most of the msm, but it's true none the less. These leftover lefties and vietnam protestors in our government and the media should take not of this message from Iraq, delivered from Lieberman.
After a Thanksgiving meal with a great group of Marines at Camp Fallujah in
western Iraq, I asked their commander whether the morale of his troops had been
hurt by the growing public dissent in America over the war in Iraq. His answer
was insightful, instructive and inspirational: "I would guess that if the
opposition and division at home go on a lot longer and get a lot deeper it might
have some effect, but, Senator, my Marines are motivated by their devotion to
each other and the cause, not by political debates."

Speaking Of Cogs

The Aurora is pleased to announce that the first annual WC Cogswell Award for outstanding overall cog-like excellence has been awarded to Donkeyhue. The Aurora was lost in his absence and his scathning investigative reporting was sorely missed, but all is well in Auroraland for he is back. Kudos Mr Donkeyhue for a job well done.
(No real reason for this post besides the fact Ive been wanting to reference the Jetsons and allude to fact that Rhino and Fly are slackers)

Die Hard 4: Operation Enduring Freedom

No good deed should go unrewarded. Considering how badly The Aurora has been known to dump on the Garofalo soldiers of the Peoples Liberation Army of Hollywood, I figure in the name of fairness I should also heap praise when its deserved. So on the brighter side of life we have Bruce Willis, who recently starred in the excellent 'Sin City'. It seems Mr Willis, like so many Americans is fed up with the liberal bias in hollyweird, and has decided to do something about it. We here at The Aurora have long been fans of Michael Yon and the outstanding work he is doing bringing the brave and noble deeds of our American soldiers in Iraq to the publics attention. Consider this an advance endorsment of the upcoming big screen Willis/Yon collaboration. Kudos Mr Yon. Kudos Mr Willis, consider yourself now having The Aurora's most favored blog status, so check out his site Yippee ki yay. (or as FZ would say Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)

The Trial of the Century? Decade? Year? Month?

Well, if you didn't know it Saddam's trial has begun again today. This is of little consequence to me as an individual but to Iraqi's it is in fact probably the most important trial of their life. Some of his wacky Sunni Arab leftover Baath party supporters are still running around blowing things up and causing general mayhem and they think he should be set free. While Al Sadr supporters from the Shiite muslim community are running around blowing things up and causing general mayhem and they think Saddam should have been put to death months ago...Well at least these sides are getting close together on the issues at hand and you can see Democracy playing it's part in this evolution. Pretty much everyone involved on either side of this trial has been handed a death threat so obviously there is no way they can be impartial about the hearings. And the fact that it has been 5 months since the last hearings leads me to beleive that a speedy trial isn't in the coming. But while Saddam's fate twists in the wind, Iraqis can take solace in the fact that the American justice system reacts a similar way to a big trial w/media involvement, big name attorneys, lots of hypothesizing about the outcome on every major network and in every major paper...They are being shown the in's & out's of our justice system. Let freedom ring....

Donkey's Back

Its good to see that my co-conspirators kept The Aurora active in my stead as I was doing the turkey thang down yonder in The Bluegrass State. Nice work fellas. Hope all had a nice Thanksgiving. Havent read any news in about 5 days so Ill just wing it on some current events.

  1. Liberals are pinko bastards.
  2. I hate tourists including me when I am one.
  3. Janeane Garofalo is still not that attractive
  4. Im irrepressible.

Turkey Day!

This Thursday when we sit down at our dinner tables and get our gobble gobble on lets not forget those whose sacrifice allows us to double up on spuds, stuffing and sweet pumpkin pie. Why not drop a soldier a quick note of Thanks and let them know that the work they are doing is appreciated back home and that there will be leftover turkey sandwiches waiting for them when they get back. Thanks Guys!

Remember the riots in France?

They're still going on! Can you believe it? It's been a month already. It's crazy because we aren't even hearing about it anymore. Muslims attack, we care for a little while, then we forget about it. Sounds like 9/11 and the democratic party. Anyway, innocent people are dying at the hands of these muslim animals. If anyone cares anymore here's a related story.

Quote of the week

We have a weekly mascot, i'm thinking we should have a weekly quote. Here's one from a very prominent democrat who is refusing to play politics, and is putting his country, his principles, and the brave men and women of the armed services ahead of his or his parties personal ambitions.

"I strongly supported the war in Iraq. I was privileged to be the
Democratic cosponsor, with the senator from Virginia, of the authorizing
resolution, which received overwhelming bipartisan support. As I follow the
debates about prewar intelligence, I have no regrets about having sponsored and
supported that resolution because of all the other reasons we had in our
national-security interest to remove Saddam Hussein from power -- a brutal,
murdering dictator, an aggressive invader of his neighbors, a supporter of
terrorism, a hater of the United States of America. He was, for us, a ticking
time bomb that, if we did not remove him, I am convinced would have blown up,
metaphorically speaking, in America's face. ... The questions raised about
prewar intelligence are not irrelevant, they are not unimportant, but they are
nowhere near as important and relevant as how we successfully complete our
mission in Iraq and protect the 150,000 men and women in uniform who are
fighting for us there." --Senator (and Gore's 2000 VP candidate) Joseph
Lieberman on the Senate floor Tuesday"

The New Nazi

Im not exactly the hippest cat in town, and its true that I couldnt sense a new trend if it hit me with an icebox. And maybe its true that I still wear acid washed Levis and still rock the double threat haircut mullett/rat tail combo. And so what if my playlist is currently rocking early 70's Kinks. And yes I have the vocabulary of a 100 year old man and I use words like donnybrook, hogwash and poppycock. All that is over cuz I am gettin' jiggy wit it. I am dizzown with the new trizzends and I thank C-SPAN and the Murtha debates for it. We know that all the cool Liberals used to call the square Republican daddy-o's names like Nazi and whenever they felt 'persecuted' they were victims of 'McCarthyism'. Well its 2005 and soon to be in the 0-SIX (yeah boy)!!...thats old hat now. Theres a new slang on the street that can be used for both and its got a beat you dance to. Im gonna paraphrase Chubby Checker to convey the new craze sweeping dem' crazy liberal kidz.
Come on let's SWIFT again like we did
last summer
Yea, let's SWIFT again like we did
last year
Do you remember when
Democrats were bummin'
Yea, let's SWIFT again,

But Im Growing Hungry

Last night we saw the beginning of the end of The Dem "we want out of Iraq but only after we milk it for all its political worth"ocrats. And after the Harriet Miers fiasco and the non-existent illegal immigration policy you can see the writing on the wall for an eventual split of the Republican Party as well. Conservative Powers Activate!!!

I hate being that guy but
I told you so. And you thought I was just being witty!

Hunger Strike

I dont mind stealing bread
From the mouths of decadence
But I cant feed on the powerless
When my cups already overfilled
But its on the table
The fire is cooking
And theyre farming babies
While the slaves are working
The blood is on the table
And their mouths are choking
But Im growing hungry

Frog Fights Wizard

Talk about picking your battles. It seems France has finally found itself a worthy adversary....Hollywood. Is it just me or do the words "France" and "combat" in the same sentence have an unintended comedic ring to it.
Rioting Teenage Mutant African Muslim Turtles or Harry Potter?
Hmm tough decision. Good Luck France, you will need it...Vegas has you as a heavy underdog.

THE FINAL INSPECTION

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?
"The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord,It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.”
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

It's the Soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.
It's the Soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
It's the Soldier, not the politicians that ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

It's the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag.

If you care to offer the smallest token of recognition and appreciation for the Military, please pass this on and pray for our men and women who have served and are currently serving our country and pray for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.

War hero loses his nerve

John Murtha thinks we should cut and run. He's a war hero, thank you for your service John Murtha. Now lets remember the war that you fought in. Lets think back and realize why we didn't prevail in Vietnam. Was it the military superiority of the great Vietnamese army? Ummm no, it was the politicians, press, and hippies at home who dodged the draft and then turned the public against the war. They called the U.S. soldiers baby killers, and gave false testimony at the "winter soldier" conference. They spit on heroes like John Murtha. So we lost our nerve, we pulled out the troops, and what was the result? Well among other things, tens of thousands of South Vietnamese people were slaughtered. Where are those hippies now? Oh yeah, they're in congress, running the democratic party. Is it any wonder that they want to run? And if we leave, how does that make us safer? Mr. Murtha was wrong when he said we couldn't win this war back in May of 2004, and he's wrong now.

Gunning For The Peace Prize

It seems leaving office in shame and surrounded by scandal isnt enough for Democratic ex-Presidents. Lacking a historic legacy of any legitimacy must turn on a switch in their leftist cranial lobes. Not being satisfied with being remembered as horribly ineffective Presidents they take it amongst themselves to become horribly destructive Americans. Carter in office, a buffoon. Carter out of office, a traitor. Carter has spent his days since office constantly denouncing American policy, validating every crooked dictatorial election in the world yet critical of our electoral system, enabled despotic regimes to develop nuclear capabilities AND USA aid, and continually taking the enemies side in our War on Terror for which he was awarded the Nobel Terrorist Prize. Seizing upon this opportunity Mr Rodham Clinton is betraying not only his own words and actions as President but also his country. Im sure your Nobel Anti-America Prize will look good on your stolen White House Desk. Clinton now says:
"When the U.S. kicked out Saddam, they decided to dismantle the whole authority
structure," "Most of the people who were part of that structure were good,
decent people who were making the best out of a very bad situation,"
And my favorite flip flop since the "but I didnt inhale" episode
"Saddam is gone. It's a good thing, but I don't agree with what was done,"
What the hell does that mean??? Now I see why the GOP has grown complacent. There is no longer any need to debate the Dems, they are debating themselves. "I smoked but didnt inhale" "I vote for it before I voted against it" "I voted for Alito and now I oppose him" "Saddam had WMD's, no he didnt" "Iraq was a threat, oops no it wasnt" etc etcetera. Bunch of jackasses!

As American As Meat Pie

The above image may seem harmless to you my fellow Aurorans, to me however it is an oppressive symbol that violates my constitutional rights as an American citizen. To paraphrase my fellow freedom fighter Paul Weinbaum:
"The apple serve no governmental purpose other than to disenfranchise and
discredit fructose intolerant citizens"
Let me explain further, you see I am what is considered in the scientific community as a carnivore. My Ninth Amendment right as a meat-eater are constantly being trampled on by my local authorities. You see, I live in New York City also known as "The Big Apple" and I feel my carnivorous tendencies have prevented me from fully participating in local civic jibber jabber yada yada yada blah blah. I intend to file a lawsuit against the City to rectify this injustice and issue an immediate cease and desist order to all govt agencies from using above said symbol until further notice.

Now if you think Im crazy I would kindly ask you to click on the image below to see the inspiration for this post and take a visit to the insanity happening in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Rock(efeller) The Casbah

Whats worse?

Trent Lott said on Dec. 5, 2002 at Strom Thurmond's 100th birthbay "I want
to say this about my state: When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for
him. We're proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we
wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years, either."

or

Sen J Rockefeller Nov 13, 2005 said on Fox News Sunday
WALLACE: Now, the President never said that Saddam Hussein was an imminent
threat. As you saw, you did say that. If anyone hyped the intelligence, isn't it
Jay Rockefeller?
SEN. ROCKEFELLER: No. The — I mean, this question is asked
a thousand times and I'll be happy to answer it a thousand times. I took a trip
by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each
of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up
his mind to go to war against Iraq — that that was a predetermined set course
which had taken shape shortly after 9/11.

The democratic pitbulls (and then later a betraying White House) practically ran Trent out of town and forced him to step down as Majority Leader. Where are the GOP attack dogs on this one. Rockefeller openly admitted that he violated The Logan Act (courtesy of The Captain) and he gets a pass. Liberals always get into a tizzy when you call them un-American, yet they continually choose to err on the side of aiding and abetting the enemy as opposed to their own country. This guy should be hung, or at the very least booted from the Senate Intelligence Committe (intellegence not required). The shareef don't like it, and neither do I.

I Will Beat This Horse

Until It's dead. Since it still seems to have some life, here's a few more whacks. the following is some insight from Terrence Jeffrey of Townhall. I reprinted the important stuff below, but feel free to check out the whole column here.

"(I)ntelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his
chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability and
his
nuclear program," said this national leader.
"(I)f left unchecked,"
the politician argued, "Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his
capability
to wage biological and chemical warfare and will keep trying to
develop nuclear
weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter
the political and
security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know
all too well, affects
American security."

Those quotes are from Hillary Clinton, so you have to ask yourself, where did she get her info? Did she "lie" us into war?

Sen. Clinton got her bad intelligence the same place President Bush got his: the CIA. Specifically, from George Tenet, the man President Clinton appointed director of central intelligence (DCI).
The entire chain of custody on the intelligence Sen. Clinton used in her Oct. 10, 2002, Senate floor speech ran through Democratic politicians back to a Democrat-appointed DCI.
In 2002, Democrats controlled the Senate, and Democratic Sen. Bob Graham of Florida chaired the intelligence committee. On Sept. 9, 2002, Democratic Sen. Richard Durbin of Illinois, a member of the intelligence committee, wrote Clinton-appointed Tenet asking for a National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) on Iraq's WMD programs.
NIEs, the intelligence committee later said in its unanimous bipartisan investigative report on Iraq intelligence, "are intended to provide policymakers in both the executive and legislative branches with the best, unvarnished and unbiased information."
An NIE, the committee quoted a CIA document as explaining, "is the director's estimate, and its findings are his."
DCI Tenet was no Bush crony or Republican hack. His career was largely propelled by Democrats. In the mid-1980s, Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont made Tenet his intelligence committee aide. Former Intelligence Chairman David Boren, an Oklahoma Democrat, later made Tenet the committee's staff director. President Clinton named him to his National Security Council staff, then deputy DCI, then DCI.
Tenet delivered the NIE requested by Durbin at the beginning of October 2002. Its key judgments included that Iraq "is reconstituting its nuclear program," "had chemical and biological weapons" and was developing unmanned aerial vehicles "probably intended to deliver biological warfare agents," and that "all key aspects -- research and development (R&D), production and weaponization -- of Iraq's offensive biological weapons (BW) program are active and that most elements are larger and more advanced than they were before the Gulf War."

I hope this clears things up, but i won't hold my breath.

M.O.T.W.

In Zogby We Trust

The Democratic Party is dead. The Republican party is dead. Neidemeyer...DEAD!!! They have failed this country time and time again by putting their own political ambitions ahead of values, ideals, and integrity.

It is ironic how in 1765 the Stamp Act was passed and our forefathers set in motion the machinations that resulted in the American Revolution, and now we have elected "representatives" more concerned with the free postage they receive as perks as opposed to the fact that over twenty five million Americans use food stamps to feed their families. The Democrats are the party of "the poor", well I ask you what have they done to alleviate the hunger of our starving?

Its funny how in 1860 Congress passed The Morill Tariff Bill thereby crippling the agricultural South and setting in motion the actions that would result in The Civil War, and now we have "representatives" cutting ribbons in Asia, South America, and elsewhere for their Geo-Corporate Conglomerate pimps. The Republicans are the party of "business" , well I ask you what have they done to keep the steel mills open in Pennsylvania, or to keep the Carolina furniture industry from moving to China?

October 2, 2002 The 107th Congress 2nd Session overwhelmingly passed H.J. Res. 114 authorizing the use of force against Iraq by a vote of 77-23 in the Senate and 296-133 in the House, and now that there is blood on the streets of Baghdad and the constant barrage of anti-war propaganda by the MSM has swayed public sentiment they are running like the chickenhawks they are. If polls showed popular support for this war, would we be witnessing this political poppycock. Its time to put the safety of our soldiers and this Nation first.

Where are the Patriots in American politics. Where have the great men that put political party aside in favor of doing what they felt was in the best interest of America. Where are the 'Profiles in Courage' that John F Kennedy wrote about as a junior Senator. Ideology has been replaced by electability. We have become a nation ruled not by men but by men that are ruled by polls. This is what makes the job that President George W Bush is doing all the more impressive. His approval rating is at its lowest, his opponents are attacking him with a ferocity never before seen in modern politics, his own party is abandoning him in droves. I may disagree with my President on many issues, but I agree with him that the "War on Terror" we are waging is the single most important threat facing this country today and tomorrow. I was in New York City in 2001 and others may forget that the terrorists brought the fight to us, but I dont and I wont....and thankfully polls and public opinion aside neither does President George W Bush.

Give em Hell Dubya!!!

Blame Canada!

I was recently watching 'The Situation With Tucker Carlson' and he had a very authoritve news publisher on as his guest. The guy really seemed knowledgeable, well spoken and fair & balanced, as opposed to the usual half baked finger pointing conspiracy theorist half wits that normally inhabit the airwaves on MSNBC. He made a very interesting observation on how the George Bush White House with its recent (non)-scandals involving Scooter, Rove, and Cheney has witnessed a power struggle between his old cabal and a new group of South Park Neo-Cons. The plans are now being drawn up for the next invasion. Fifty-Four Forty or Fight! I hate Canadians!

Dems admit they're stupid....

That's right, the democrats are admitting it, they're stupid. It's funny, all i kept hearing during the campaign, in fact even now is how dumb George Bush is, yet to here it from the dems, he fooled them all when it comes to Iraq.
John Kerry said "He misled every one of us,"
All of the democrats who voted to go to war in Iraq are saying Bush lied, he manipulated them, he fooled them. How were they so easily fooled by such dunce? Obviously they're stupid. They keep telling us this every time they say they were misled and manipulated. So my question is, do we want to elect people who are stupid?

"I'm not responsible for my vote"

Senator Jay Rockefeller (D WV) was on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace this weekend. He was challenged by Chris to defend his speeches and statements that he made during the runup to war. Not only did he look like an idiot, but he actually said that he's not responsible for his own vote! Very funny stuff. In fact as i noted in a previous post, many democrats were making inflamatory statements to the media. Rockefeller himself said that saddam was
"an imminent threat"
and that saddam
"has a nuclear program".
The president never said either of these things! So who was responsible for selling the war to the American people? Who was "hyping" the intelligence? Check it out here.

Happy Veterans Day

We all owe a debt to the brave men and women who have fought for us. So from The Aurora we say Thank You and God Bless You.

OOPS....

Here's a few quotes from a few notable Democrats who are now saying that the President "mislead" the U.S. into war in Iraq. I have a ton of them, but i figured i would just throw in a few to remind everyone of the mentality of the democratic leadership before the polls turned against the war.

John Kerry > October 9, 2002
"I will be voting to give the president of the US the authority to use force if
necessary to disarm Saddam because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of
mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."

Senator Hillary Clinton > October 10, 2002
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that
Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock.
His missile delivery capability, his nuclear program. He has also given aid,
comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists including Al-Qaeda members. It is clear,
however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his
capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare and will keep trying to develop
nuclear weapons."

Dick Durbin > September 30, 1999
"One of the most compelling threats we in this country face today is the
proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Threat assessments regularly warn
us of the possibility that North Korea, Iran, Iraq, or some other nation may
acquire or develop nuclear weapons."
Johnny Edwards > January 7, 2003
"Serving on the intelligence committee and seeing day after day, week after
week, briefings on Saddam's weapons of mass destruction and his plans on using
those weapons, he cannot be allowed to have nuclear weapons. It's just that
simple. The whole world changes if Saddam ever has nuclear weapons."
Tom Daschle > February 11, 1998

"The (Clinton) administration has said, 'Look, we have exhausted virtually our
diplomatic effort to get the Iraqis to comply with their own agreements and with
international law. Given that, what other option is there but to force them to
do so?' That's what they're saying. This is the key question. And the answer is
we don't have another option. We have got to force them to comply, and we are
doing so militarily."

So the question is, did they lie to us? Did these democrats mislead us into war? If not, and they believed what they were saying, why didn't they do anything about it? Why were they allowing this threat to exist, even thrive when Clinton was in office? Either way, it doesn't look good for the Dems.

But Was He The Anti-Christ?

As readers (or as we like to call them, ~jim) of The Aurora know, there is perhaps no greater fan of irreverent stupidity than I, however sometimes you see something written in an earnest manner that is so non-sensical that if it rhymed it would be Seussical. There is a a blog out there (warning: free publicity for the enemy) called the Coalition For A Republican Free America run by a liberal version of the Swiss Family Robinson. I guess in theory you could call them fascists in nature if you take Websters word for it.
1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of
the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that
stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader,
severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
I however would dare not go so far as to resort to name calling (not yet at least). It seems our esteemed colleague Rhinoculous has been known to troll there, being the bully that he is. I generally do not make comments on other sites as I seem to always be engaged in debates with my fellow Aurorans. A recent post there on the late great President Ronald Wilson Reagan compelled me to venture into the liberal abyss. I hope you find this article and the comments that followed as amusing as I did. What they lack in knowledge, facts, and common sense they make up for with their zest.

Learning From France and Isreal

The recent riots in France, which as of this writing has been going on for 2 weeks, have started everyone thinking about U.S. immigration policies again. Some people, like myself, feel we should round up an deport all illegal immigrants. Of course that would be tough to do, but i think its worth it. Now of course i don't think this will happen any time soon, but at the very least we need to stem the flow of illegals coming across the Mexican border every day. One idea is a fence. It seems to be the easiest and most practical. Rep. Duncan Hunter (R) San Diego has proposed the construction of a 2000 mile dual layer fence, equipped with high tech sensors stretching from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. The fence would cost about 8 billion dollars. Well worth it if you ask me, but if we take a lesson from the Isreali's, we can save a lot of money, and even a lot of time. Isreal built some cement walls for a fraction of the cost of the fence and it has been very effective at keeping out terrorists and other undesirables. According the the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, more than 2,360 linear miles of cement sound barriers are now in place along U.S. highways, built at a cost of 1.4 billion dollars. Why not do the same along the Mexican Border? The Isreali's have shown us that it works, the highway dept has shown us that it's cost effective, and the French have shown us that it's necessary.

Rolling Numbers Rock And Rolling

Hey France...Its 10 PM do you know where your children are? Isnt it about that time when you start singing your favorite Tric bon marche
song. Call it a hunch (of Notre Dame) but I dont think your Uncle Sam is going to be bailing you out of this one. Perhaps you could use some of that Oil For Food cashola and take the kiddies out for ice cream (or crepes and croissants if you prefer) Because after all they are not violent radical thugs theyre just misunderstood.
As usual Joseph Farah has an interesting take on the situation.

Happy Election Day!

Le Discotheque Inferno

At the risk of being called an anti-frogite. I say let Paris burn. The people smell, are rude, talk with an accent, and wear berets. They made their bed now they have to lie in it. A policy of appeasement only emboldens the terroristic element in the muslim community. As the best band from the 80's fronted by a bald aborigine once said...
"How can we dance when our earth is turning. How do we sleep while our beds are
burning"
I dont really have a point here I just wanted to insult the french and quote Midnight Oil. Rowdy Roddy Piper said it best. The French should stop blowing bubbles, evacuate the women and children and set the whole frickin neighborhood ablaze.

Who is John Galt?

I don't know, but i think we might find out soon. Oil companies are making too much money, lets tax them. What? That's right, you're too successful, you've got a product that everyone needs, you've done a great job of delivering it, the demand is up, the supply is down, you run your business very efficiently, you make a lot of money. Now give it back. When will Atlas shrug?

Violent Muslims? No couldn't be..

Well, if you read the story from the BBC you wouldn't know its muslims, but we know the truth. The muslim immigrants in France are rioting, and are out of control. Why would a people who follow a "religion of peace" be violently rioting and attacking police? Well good luck to the residents of paris, I will be surprised if this doesn't end with the head cheese eating surrender monkey (chirac) appeasing them by giving them everything they want. Of course the message they will send is bad behavior will be rewarded, but that's the message they've been sending for decades.

Hillary lied people died

Harry Reid pulled the Senate into closed session Tuesday, claiming that "The Libby indictment provides a window into what this is really all about, how this Administration manufactured and manipulated intelligence in order to sell the war in Iraq." What? lets ask the people who know.

In July 2004, the Senate Intelligence Committee released a bipartisan
500-page report that found numerous failures of intelligence gathering and
analysis. As for the Bush Administration's role, "The Committee did not find any
evidence that Administration officials attempted to coerce, influence or
pressure analysts to change their judgments related to Iraq's weapons of mass
destruction,"

And what about pre war? What was the senate intelligence committe saying then? Well, thanks to google, we can check it out for ourselves.

Senator Jay Rockefeller, the Democratic ViceChairman ofthe Intelligence
Committee, who is now leading the "Bushlied"brigades (fromOctober 10, 2002):
"There is unmistakableevidencethatSaddam Hussein isworking aggressively to
developnuclear weaponsand willlikely have nuclearweapons within thenextfive
years. . . .Wealso shouldremember we have alwaysunderestimated the progress
Saddamhas made indevelopment ofweapons of massdestruction."

If Mr. Bush is a liar, what does the use of the phrase "unmistakable evidence" make Mr. Rockefeller? A fool? Yes, he is a fool, but don't forget, the intelligence committee gets all the same information as the president. And what about some other prominent "Bush Lied" dems? In fact what about the front runner for the democratic nomination for president?

Nigger Irish

Ok now that I have your attention, what I actually meant to say was dirty nigger shanty town potato eating, drunk driving, wife beating, mistress killing, papist, drunk alcoholic, donkey, paddy, mick, bog jumping, narrowback, fighting irish fenian bastard. Did I mention DRUNK. Ok before all my Irish readers start doing shots of whiskey and getting their beer muscles all pumped up I have to tell you that I am Irish, so its OK. If we have learned anything from the Michael Steele episode in my prior post it is that it is fine to say hateful mean spirited things if you are just "stating the obvious" and you are of the same ilk as your victim. Obvious things like how my fellow Irish American Teddy Kennedy killed a woman after drunk driving off a bridge. Or well hell to save space choose your favorite alcoholic raping cheating lying Kennedy story ... you get my drift . Or how the self hating "Uncle Liam" Clinton (nee Blythe) was a filthy cheating lying scalawag. What African Americans didnt realize was when he said he was the first "black president" he wasnt talkin bout bein no negro but referencing his Black Irishness. See I am an Irish-American and I am damn proud of it henceforth my name, Donkeyhue ...I hope people that dont read me or have a sense of my political leanings think it is an endorsement of the Democratic Party because that would be an insult to all asskind. Donkey is and was a slur. But as Condoleeza Rice said when called a "house nigga"....and Im paraphrasing her here...."Words mean nothing to me. I dont need someone lecturing me on my blackness" I feel the same way. Call me what you will but dont call me late for drinks (drumroll) Its a tragic tragic shame that the democratic party insists on continuing to divide America with their hateful destructive rhetoric and even more of a shame that they have an audience. For the record I am drunk while writing this.

A Dark Delicious Cookie Is A Horrible Thing To Waste

Imagine if the The Young Republicans started throwing pineapples at Barack Obama. Imagine the outrage. Imagine if the members of the NRA started throwing Jerry Curl at Chuck Rangel. Imagine the outrage. Imagine if your local National Association for the Advancement of White People chapter started throwing fried chicken at Kweisi Mfume. Imagine the outrage. Imagine all the people living life in peace (just threw that one in to keep you awake) I think you get my point that the outrage would be outrageous. Constant media coverage, boycotts, sit-ins, drop-outs and marches on Washington. The Jesse and Al show on every channel. Now imagine if similiar antics were done to an African American politician that just so happened to be a Republican and even worse a Conservative. Imagine if OREO cookies (because hes "black" on the outside and "white" in the middle) were thrown at him or felonious crimes were commited against him by illegaly obtaining his credit report in order to defame his character. Imagine the outrage. Thats 'whats happenening' (hey hey hey) to Michael Steele. Well your imagination and a dollar wouldnt even get you a coffee (black of course) at Starbucks. This liberal double standard that only Republicans can be racist is an insult to the intelligence of both black AND white folk and it will backfire on the dems one day and I for one surely wouldnt wanna be on the Plantation the day the "field democrats" revolt against the "house liberals". As Rodney King once said "Ouch Ouch Ouch" wait thats not it, as Rodney King once said "Cant we all..." You may say Im a dreamer but Im not the only I hope some day youll join us and the world will live as one (democrats only).

Ive mentioned this guy in a previous post

Chuck: Does this whole "Catch 22" thing mean there wont be any cameras around?

Dick: Its "Rule 22"

Chuck: Well how bout them cameras?

Harry: Ssshhhh! I have the microphone.

Dick: The cameras will be back in few hours its just a publicity stunt

Chuck: I hope Harry knows what he's doing...I just bought this tie.

Dick: Whats another word for Gulag?

Chuck: Are you gonna use "blood for oil" or can I?
Harry: (Stomps Feet) We wanna talk bout Iraq We wanna talk bout Iraq We wanna talk bout Iraq

Dont Forget To Take Your Ginkgo Biloba

Listening to some of these Democratic Senators skewering Sammy "The Wop" Alito before his testimony I cant help but to think of the SNL skit featuring Tom Hanks as "Mr Short Term Memory". Before I begin my rant I would like to add that in my opinion Hanks, Walken, and Baldwin are the Triumvirate of SNL hosts. Sadly SNL now sucks. But back to The Honorable Paesono. You hear talk about political strategies about "framing the man" before the oppositon has a chance to, such as what happened with Roberts. They were actually pissed that the public saw Roberts and his family at his introduction and thought to themselves "Thats a decent looking family man" so much so that the liberal scum ny slimes actually had the nerve to question The Roberts family adoption procedure. News Flash you jackass liberals...how about letting the public decide for themselves. How about the fact you lost on your plan to derail the Roberts nomination because he was qualified, just as you will fail with The Hon Samuel Alito um i mean Judge Guido. Mind you that this is the same "Guinea" that was approved unanimously in 1990 by a Democratic controlled Senate. Mind you this is the same "Dago" that Kennedy, Biden, Kerry, Reid, and Byrd et al voted Yea for. These are the hippies whose politics were shaped by "acid, abortion, and amnesty". All they have left is abortion, and will use every dirty trick imaginable for when it goes, so does their relevancy. So rememember that when you hear the onslaught of hatred spewed at this decent, intellegent, scholarly QUALIFIED Italian American Catholic. For they will be the words of dying rats scurrying in the putrid corner of their miserable existance. We already know what John "I voted for him before I voted against him" Kerry's excuse will be. What will the others be when they flip flop like a hilljack after they smack a govt flack's crack with a Macanudo?

Equal Justice Under the Law

This has been bothering me for some time now. Scooter Libby may have lied under oath. He may have mislead the grand jury to cover up what he said to whom. That's kind of serious i guess. Is there another crime here? Did he intentionally reveal the identity of an undercover CIA agent? I don't think so, that's not what the indictment says. This guy is facing 30 years in prison. Seems excessive to me, but even if the punishment fits the crime, what about some high profile people who have done worse? We have addressed it many times here on this blog already, but it's worth mentioning again. Sandy Berger was caught red handed stealing classified national security documents from the archives in the middle of a war! He then destroyed those documents, and then he lied about it. Then he admitted it, and got a small fine. Seems like his crimes were a little worse, no? What about Clinton? He lied under oath about his affair with Monica Lewinsky. Then he got caught. No jail time? Libby is facing 30 years, and Clinton got no jail time? What about Berger? Libby is facing 30 years, and Berger didn't even face indictment? Doesn't seem like Equal justice to me.
